Borough - Edinburgh - Photo album

Innovative food, brilliantly-executed. That is how I would describe our experience at Borough. We opted for the set menu as we couldn’t decide on what to get, except that we switched out the roasted grouse for the Shetland cod. The Shetland cod became my favourite dish. It was brilliantly-executed,
I’m far from having a refined palate but I thought the food was lovely and gave me something to think about. Cured Mackeral with pear and sea trout were my first 2 courses (I forgot to take a picture of the menu to give proper representation of the complexity of flavor in these dishes). The starter
Great food, great experience. 10/10. Beetroot chips, brocolli tempura and leek mayonnaise, gazpacho soup and potato bread, spice in jus for the pork. The first few dishes required using our hands to eat. Those were finger licking good. Some suggestions were to tempura the seaweed, and perhaps do
The modern style of the restaurant denotes the innovation of the profile. Oysters ginger was so strong that the subtle flavor of oyster was taken away. Hummus was average cos the sweetness was too sharp. Deep fried fish was very good. Venison sausage was better than the steak cos the steak was too s
Good value set lunch. Skilled cooking and good flavours. The Brussels Sprouts were delicious. I'd eat that again. Butter pie was superb.
Visited last week after a 3 year hiatus, and it was still a fantastic experience. The matradee/server was excellent at her job, and the GM also helped with serving and was a thoroughly nice chap. Onto the food, unfortunately I wasn't that impressed with the tartare starter, it was a bit bland for m
We have been to Borough twice now for lunch and both times the food has been superb. The lunch is great value at only £25, and no corners are cut for the food or service at lunchtime. The staff also make visiting the restaurant extra special. This is an Edinburgh lunch favourite and we will be back
Delicious fine dining at affordable prices in a cost and casual setting. I couldn’t recommend it more. I had never had an oyster I liked until having one at Borough and I could have happily eaten a full dinner of them there. 6 amazing and interesting courses for £49 plus affordable drinks. We’ll de
I have been so looking forward to dining here. And it did not disappoint! The venue is very chic but felt incredibly comfortable and relaxed. Staff were very attentive. The highlight was of course was the food. The whole tasting menu was stunning and incredibly good value. We were all blown away by
Absolutely cracking lunch with excellent wines and cocktails too. Great value👌🏼
Great service, fantastic food. Went above and beyond for our evening. Staff had awesome knowledge of food and wines. Will go again
Seriously accomplished bistro cookery, and a superb value 3 course set lunch at £18.50 (n.b. currently Fri - Sun only), served in a stylish but comfortable neighbourhood setting, with a welcoming, informative front of house and major talent in the kitchen. Who knew a roast carrot could be so delicio
This might be the best food experience I have ever enjoyed and I am a foodie. When I got up to leave, I just wanted to give everyone involved a huge hug. Bravo!
The food tasted lovely, there was nothing we didn't enjoy but we still felt a bit hungry when we left, even after 4 courses.
Simple, delicious food. Great flavour combinations. Everything perfectly cooked. Fantastic, laid back, friendly service. Tasty oysters with rhubarb mignonette, locally sourced chicken with st georges mushrooms and divine mushroom ketchup and many more . Strongly reccomend. Will definitely be back. T
Enjoyed every bite! Really loved Borough, and I'll be recommending it to anyone who goes to Edinburgh. Watching and waiting until they get a Michelin star!!
Went for my birthday meal. All the courses were tasty with the highlight for me being the clever fruit cake pudding. Friendly staff, nice relaxed space. Thanks.
