This is one of our favourite brunch spots in Edinburgh.

Papii is located less than a 5 minute walk from Princes Street. It's fairly small inside so you'll need to head there early or be ready to wait (it’s worth it!).

They have a good menu (displayed artistically on the wall), with both breakfast and lunch items but you need to get the waffles! They are THE best! Price wise, you’re talking £7/£8 pp which is really good value for money.

Bacon & Maple Syrup OR Strawberries & Maple Syrup. Perfection.

the strawberries & maple syrup buttermilk waffles is excellent. Bacon Panini also has a subtle taste, great oregano, not overpowering.

One of the best places to walk in for breakfast. I had the crispy bacon and maple syrup waffles and it was worth every penny. I recommend the place.

Well!!! What a fantastic place, from the way it’s menu is displayed, the look of the tempting pastries and that’s before we’d even eaten.. the breakfast panini, the chocolate pastry, the granola, the croissant with bacon and oh my god the bacon and maple syrup waffles , all totally off the scale.. my daughter who thinks her self a bit of a smoothie expert loved the mixed berry smoothie and my mocha has to be the best one I’ve had in Edinburgh and I’ve stayed here a lot

Went out of my way for these waffles! I ordered the waffles with bacon, maple syrup, strawberries and cream and the berry merry smoothie. Waffles were awesome!! And I loved everything on it. The berries used for the smoothie were oh so fresh, two thumbs up for that, but it was too sour for my taste. Enjoyed the area as well. Quaint and clean. The staff were friendly as well!

Just amazing, best chai tea latte and waffles I've ever had. Highly recommend to anybody in the city, easily one of the best cafes in the area.

Amazing food quality and service. A little tight on space, but well worth the wait. No service charge here, so please tip your servers accordingly!

Located off the high street, away from the hustle bustle, Papii is a secret gem cafe. Though it is small and can't accommodate many at one go but the cosy and extremely warm servers impress you! We preferred ordering generously starting with croissant with butter and jam, chai latte, florentine eggs with toasted muffin and hollandaise sauce, veg panini and ended with a chocolate croissant. I must tell you that each dish was served nicely and the every dish pleased our pallets! The intricate designing on the coffees including the lattes is a must watch. The genius who makes coffees has been a barista for 10 years!! Cheers to the team of Papii who will make your breakfast wonderful. Definitely worth a visit for their amazing hospitality and food.

Slow service. Place wasn't busy but it took over 30 minutes for one waffle (!). Worth the wait though. Great coffee, great food, reasonable prices, nice atmosphere. No gluten free options so coeliacs beware.

We were on the lookout for a good breakfast spread that wasn't too expensive and would keep us going till the afternoon. After going through a number of restaurants on Zomato, we ended up at Papii Cafe and I am SO glad we did. You know they say, when the breakfast is British you make it your favourite meal. We had a wholesome meal that included eggs, toasts, salami, sausages and baked beans. I got my breakfast meal customised to chicken and they agreed with a smile on their face. Two breakfast meals costed us £6.5 each and it was worth it. The ambience is very welcoming, the staff goes out of their way to make you comfortable, the place was relatively packed and since it's not too big, getting a table can be a task. One of the sweetest things about our trip to Edinburgh was definitely when our server handed us one of their speciality brownies as a gift.
Cheers to restaurants like these that make you feel so welcomed and a staff that is always smiling :)

The Best Chai Latte I've had in my life! That was a win for me. I had banana, honey and cream waffle; I really enjoyed that. Staff was friendly too! :)

This is a small and inviting cafe in the heart of Edinburgh. Since discovering it on my first visit, I have made it a habit to return here every time I am in town. The coffee here is absolutely delicious - try the flat white, it WILL blow your mind. Another favourite of mine is the eggs Benedict. Sit by the window and watch the world go by as you indulge !

This is one my FAVOURITE places to have breakfast and bring all my visitors here.
They do deliciously strong coffees, creamy millshakes in cute jars, and plenty of pastries. Their buttermilk waffles are a must, or if you go for lunch their soups always hit the spot!
The only downside is that it is very small so not a great place for a group of people. However, it's quaint with a beach kinda theme which is a haven from the busy streets.
Try it out before, during, or after shopping all day...or all 3! You won't be disappointed!

First time I went to Papii it was because Urban Angel had had us waiting for half an hour only to be told we would still have to wait for another hour. Disappointed and a bit mad at them, we sought somewhere else to have brunch and... Papii is just perfect. Staff is nice, friendly and very knowledgeable. Their coffee is delicious, and so are their smoothies and juices. No matter when you go, make sure you try their eggs papii. They are to die for. Oh, and so are their waffles with strawberries and maple syrup. I've been there quite a few times now... And will be back for sure.

Summertime at Papii. This little café on Hanover street is a great place to relax with its bright cheerful interior and friendly staff. They have a lovely selection of sweet and savoury food and the coffee (artisan roast) is excellent. I was too late for their breakfast menu but was more than happy with the waffles with strawberries and maple syrup. I promise you, it tasted every bit as good as the picture !! The prices are very good and they do lunchtime deals and specials. Well worth a visit.

Had a lovely breakfast at Papii this morning. I was in a small group of people, the rest of them ordered the full scottish (which I am told was very lovely and rather filling!), I myself opted for the buttermilk bacon and maple waffles.

Oh my lord them waffles was goooooood.

Forgive me for that, but they were darn tasty waffles. The bacon was crispy but not brittle and plentiful enough that there was enough bacon for each bite of waffle I took.

They also offer an array of sandwiches and most (if not all) of their food as takeaway options. Their coffee is Artisan Roast and although I did not partake myself I was told that the Flat White was fantastic. A great little breakfast/lunch spot with a cool, laid back atmosphere.

Lovely little spot in a part of Edinburgh I like to describe as 'Lunch Lane'; there's so much munch to muscle through along this stretch, but Papii's probably got the most welcoming air to it.
Sadly I've yet to sample the food, I can vouch for their latte though (I'll have lungs of latte at this rate) which is absolutely lovely, and I'll be heading back for the banter and the brunch!

Cute little place tucked away on Hanover Street. Had some tasty but lukewarm tomato and chilli soup with half a chicken and bacon baguette for a reasonable £4.90, and a decent latte. Friend had an especially delicious chai latte.

There isn't much not to like! A small but cozy spot to have a coffee or tea in a relaxing atmosphere.☕️ The space to eat in is limited but the restaurant is usually quiet, so my husband and I never had trouble getting a table for two. We ate here twice on our first trip to Edinburgh and now a third time when we came back! The food and drinks are delicious and the service is always efficient and polite. Worth the visit for a tasty breakfast/brunch.

The service is great and the food is satisfactory. My husband ordered a cappuccino (very good) and the salmon eggs Benedict. I ordered the iced chai, mango smoothie, and yogurt granola bowl. Everything was fine but nothing stood out as exceptional. I would have liked more granola in the yogurt bowl.

Seriously the nicest café in Edinburgh and to be honest one of the nicest I've been too anywhere. The Flat white was sheer perfection, perfectly velvety and rich. I had the Eggs royal and again one of the best I've had in a long time, a lot of places miss the mark but this was stunning and the inclusion of a small sprinkling of grated lime did not go unnoticed, a very welcome addition to a favourite dish of mine. Finally, the simple chill feel of the place was surprising elevated by the vibrant art on the board, an odd thing for me to pick up on but it was really beautiful and helped bring a certain level of calm to the café. Thank you!

Small café. It was raining when we got there but luckily there was a table available. Small round tables which are a little small. Clean bathroom. Waffle was good and soft but not Belgian waffle. My daughter got a salmon bagel and that was that as well. Came with the salad.

Awesome Cappuccino. It's quite tight in there but coffee was great and food really quite affordable, especially if you go for a sandwich or toastie.

Me and my mum love it here! The waffles are a good size and can tell they’re fresh! The coffees are super yummy and the staff are so friendly. The place is small so it does get quite busy quickly so sometimes we have to wait which is understandable!

Visiting from Aus and have been hunting for a good coffee while travelling across the UK - this has been the best so far. Picked up an oat flat white (oatly barista milk 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽) and a Milano salami baguette to go. Simple, fresh and reasonably priced. The staff are also super polite and friendly.
