Visited for a family celebration and the overall ambience, quality of food and service was excellent. As a large party of 25+ the food was served fresh and together which is no mean feat. Well worth a visit if you are in the local area.
Honestly one of the most present family meals I have been on, food was amazing and delivered in a timely fashion and the service was at tentative but not invasive. Highly recommend !!
I’ve wanted to eat here for a while, it’s another restaurant I walk past regularly and when I peek in through the window it always looks bustling with diners, which is a good sign!. The first thing I noticed when I sat down was the humongous wine glasses! This was obviously a big plus point.
Italian is not my favourite cuisine. I do like it and I loved the food when I visited Italy; it just wouldn't be my first choice for a restaurant. However, I have been to Mia a couple of times now and I have always enjoyed my meal.
I have ordered both the chicken and mushroom pizza and the seabass fillets. I would have both again. The pizzas are quite big but the base is thin, and the seabass is cooked in a delicious white wine and garlic sauce. There is something on the menu for everyone, which is why it is a nice place for families to go.
Although it's a nice restaurant, it still has a relaxed feel about it which makes it good for groups, it's also quite big inside. For a meal for 2 I would prefer a more intimate setting. I've had 2 good experiences at Mia now, so 'm sure I will be returning.
Booked a dinner here Monday night for a birthday. Myself and dad ordered the special seafood broth on the specials menu. Everyone enjoyed the food and we were pleasantly surprised of the portion sizes. Really big and very tasty. The service was great and staff really were ace. Thanks.
Highly recommend the trio of salmon. Home made and unusual.
I’ve been meaning to review this restaurant for quite some time. I pop in quite often for a bite to eat as their food is always outstanding and the service has always been 11/10! I must admit I go for their amazing gluten free pizza which is like no other. Their lunch time menu is extremely good value as is their à la carte menu, it has so much choice! I’ve brought many friends and family members to this restaurant and it is always one of their top restaurants from their visit to Edinburgh. The staff are just absolutely lovely and always have a smile for me. I’d highly recommend to anyone. Never disappoints!
Great little ristorante, with marvelous pizza, fantastic sirloin steak and delicious starters. The staff is attentive and the fact that is almost always packed is a testiment to the overall outstanding quality. We will definitely return in the future to check out their other dishes :)
Nice Italian food a little bit away from the centre of Edinburgh. Our favourite were the pasta dishes, the beef lasagna and Linguine Gamberoni were really tasty, very rich sauces, the pasta itself pleasantly chewy, and really generous in portions. Starters were nice as well, the calamari fritti got a good crispy coating with the squid itself being flavourful, and the scallops were juicy as well. The desserts let us down a bit though, not the best quality of tiramisu, and the cheese cake was really an average one. We loved the Pinot Grigio there. It was a Saturday night and the place was super busy, reservation is a must.
Great Italian restaurant for a date night when visiting Edinburgh (from the States). We made reservations in advance to make sure that we had seating, and we were thankful that we did because it was busy enough for a Monday night! My partner is gluten intolerant, so we wanted to go to a place that had gluten free options. Their gluten free pasta is penne only. My partner ended up ordering the Formaggi pizza and I ordered the Linguine Salmone (slightly salty salmon). We also ordered the affettati Mistie Mozzarella and house wines (not pictured). The staff was very friendly and took my partner's allergies seriously.
We had soup of the day and pizza both were good and customer service was okay.

Food was delicious, would highly recommend meat and veg antipasti and pasta dishes, good portions and very tasty. Service was good but I had a pint of pale ale of a brand that I drink a lot that smelled, tasted and looked "off", they did give me a replacement but it was still not great. I suspect an old kegg. Maybe stick to the wine. But overall a great place
Very nice place with great food and a busy atmosphere. The servers were amazing, really friendly and helpful. Nice value for money as well. The portion were big and delivious. Definetely get a booking if having for dinner.
