It's a good place to have a beer.
The interior is nicely decorated and the atmosphere seems to be quite pleasant.
They have a few tables outside in a beautiful setting, but outside there is a persistent noise that spoils your peace and the pleasure of sitting with a beer in the fresh air. I don't know if it's like this permanently, or only when I went.
The staff members are kind and nice.
Great city centre pub with an excellent great value menu. Prices will not rip you off. Great beer too. Staff exc and very dog friendly. Highly recommend
Been here a few times and always enjoy! Enquired about booking a table last week for a birthday and they came back very quick. Although they didn’t have capacity to accept the booking they still suggested they were having a Halloween event and to come along anyway! We did this and we’re so glad we did. The atmosphere is always amazing and there was karaoke this time which was good fun. The bar staff and bouncers are always a good laugh and happy to chat away to us

They play just the kind of music I love. Always such a good atmosphere here and the food is always top notch. The haggis balls are amazing!
Such a great find on Rose St! Jukebox, friendly and chatty staff, very cool ambience and patio for people watching. Try the pie of the day, it’s delicious. We split it, really healthy portion size.
Awesome food, we were served quite quickly. :) the prices are also pretty good considering the portion sizes; the atmosphere is really cool, kind of like a rock bar, I loved the music, and there's a functioning jukebox so you can put on what you like.
We enjoyed ourselves there friendly staff and good food. A very nice atmosphere will go back.

Splendid little pub, nice waitress. Explained us everything we wanted to know and made perfect suggestions as to which beer we should try. We had haggis and fish & chips, both very delicious. Can really recommend the Black Rose Tavern!
I love this place, good tunes, nice staff and fairly priced food. Great little gothy hang out in the city center. Short walk from the bus and train station.

The staff are amazing, food is fingerlicking good. The atmosphere is like entering your home pub you'll become family in seconds. Overal 10/10 would recommend
Despite the fact that it seems to be a crammed place, the time we spent in there was awesome.
The food is delicious, the staff is fast and friendly and the music was to our taste.
I would recommend giving this place a visit as it is right in the heart of the restaurants area in the city centre.
