Thai Lemongrass Edinburgh

Booked a table last minute and managed to get in. So glad we did. This restaurant was recommended by the guest house we were staying in. Amazing food, good service, friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend

Absolutely perfect. We ate from set menu and could not complain. All the flavours were clean and fresh. Meat dishes contained loads of meat which was cooked perfectly. Service was attentive yet relaxed. Excellent value for money and really nice restaurant.

I'm literally just back from a work lunch at Thai Lemongrass and was very very impressed. From the outside the restaurant looks very rustic and authentic. Stepping through the double-doors the restaurant has managed to stay very traditional, with fan covered lights on the ceilings, bamboo place mats and of course, the very Asian themed fish tank in the wall.

There were about 15 of us and we were split in to two tables and practically had the whole restaurant to ourselves. We chose from the three-course lunch menu. A starter, a main and icecream and tea/coffee for £8.95 per person. We thought the potion sizes would match the price bracket but we were wrong! Very generous in portions and the food was extremely tasty!

To start, I opted for the chicken satay skewers. This was 3 skewers, smothered in a peanut satay sauce with a dish of rosewater and cucumber to accompany. Veyr nice and the chicken was cooked perfectly.

For my main I had the beef thai curry with aubergine and chilli. This was served in a bowl with a seperate individual bowl of fragranced steamed rice. I would go as far as to say this may even be too much for a lunch time portion (especially since I was coming straight back to work) but I still ate almost all of the food as it was so deliciously tasty!

Pudding was vanilla icecream, one good sized scoop with a slice of orange. the icecream was very nice, and seemed pretty healthy.

The service was very good and the staff were polite and friendly. At £8.95 per head for this lunch I would highly reccommend, and I will definitely return!

Good ambience, great food and friendly service. This place gives us an excellent dining experience. So why 4 stars? The chicken satay was great, the salad on the plate was fresh to go with the starter. But I had full of water on the plate that socked the crispy satay chicken. By the time when I had my last satay water was dripping and soggy. Among the 3 pieces of satay, 3 Rd one was unacceptable. I felt the salad was not drained before they place on the plate. I have informed to the person served as well but his answer was intentionally vinigered water for flavour which is not acceptable for me. I personally felt for the money we pay we except more. Overall experience was good. They offer delivery as well. Alcohol free selection was not great.

A great Thai restaurant with good food and calm atmosphere. I can't find much to fault. The food was delicious and they have traditional dishes. We really enjoyed the chicken pad thai. The service was efficient and on time, the staff are nice too. Overall, I think it deserves 5 stars for bringing and maintaining Thai cuisine in Edinburgh.

We were in vacation and wanted some good Thai so we decided to walk here for dinner. We got caught in a rainstorm and we decided my wife would go back to the hotel and I would get the food to go. Arrived at restaurant wet and hungry. Ordered the chicken fried rice, red curried chicken and Tom yum soup. It all smelled so good couldnt wait to eat. Long story short all the food was very good. Nice and spicy. Would have liked to dine in but have to save that for next time. Great food

Delicious authentic tasting food. We had the green Thai chicken curry, chicken and cashews, and tamarind duck. Highly recommend all three dishes. The meat was tender and the sauces were authentically delicious. Seating was comfortable and meals arrived promptly.

WOW! Nicest people and so tasty! Get the pork ribs, you will not be disappointed. This is a delicious break from the monotonous fried chips and fish of Edinburgh.

My husband and I have been coming to / getting take away from Thai lemongrass for about 10 years (possibly longer) and we’ve NEVER had a bad meal. The food and service are sensational every time! I’ve personally ordered the same dish as it’s so good that if I ordered anything else, I’d have fear of missing out on it! Our absolute favourite Thai in Edinburgh.

Took a takeaway for my birthday dinner. The food was amazing (it felt ‘authentic’; light, spicy and full of flavour), so much worth it! Great quality, great service, perfect timing. 5 stars all round!!

Although it was empty when we first arrived it didn't discourage us as it looked very friendly. We are so glad we went in as the food was probably the best Thai food we have ever eaten. Very nicely presented and incredibly tasty. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Loved it and will hopefully be back soon.

My fiance and I attended for an anniversary dinner. The food was excellent either a good selection of curries. We ordered a Thai Sampler to start which gave us a good selection of well presented tasting experience, including spring rolls, duck, Thai fish cakes, and tempura prawns with matching accompaniments. We shared a rice with pineapple, chicken and prawn and each ordered a red curry. The curry was on the spicy side but very enjoyable with a lot of flavour.

My wife and have have eaten here a few times as it's just a 10 minute stroll from our house. The food is consistently good - very fresh and very tasty. We particularly like the battered prawn and veg starter, and the veg spring rolls. The red curry is excellent, and I really liked the prawn and pineapple main too. The helpings aren't huge, and it's not exactly cheap, but we expect that in Thai places, and it's worth it for the flavours.

Excellent 10/10. Went with my wife and daughter as not had Thai for a bit. Everything we had was spot on - perfectly cooked and flavourful. We had the mixed starter - best chicken satay and crab cakes I have had in a long, long time. Highlight was the Tamarind Duck my daughter had. Décor, atmosphere and staff was excellent and relaxing. Definitely recommended and we will be back.
