Went here for Saturday brunch with some friends. Food was really good and well cooked, hot and cooked to order. Coffee was good as well. Nice to see it busy and popular. Dogs allowed in as well. Worth a visit.

Was looking for a change of brunch spot instead of our normal trek to the Roseleaf, and had the bright idea of heading to Piece box. Job done. I opted for the egg and Sweet potato and courgette club, and he got a full breakfast. My egg was perfect, and the sandwich was nice and tasty with all it's runny yolk goodness. His fry up was also good, with a generous portion of black pudding. Fresh orange for also lovely. Will be back!

I’m conscious that our geographical coverage across Edinburgh isn’t quite what it could be and is driven by where we tend to spend most of our time. Accordingly, when an opportunity for lunch in Polwarth presented itself, I jumped at the chance. First time quester Vicky had suggested the Piecebox, which sounded good to me. I’d visited the nearby Odds & Ends a while back, and I hear good things about Streat Hawker at the Polwarth Tavern, but this is otherwise fairly unexplored territory for me.

We took a run up to piecebox, on the recommendation of a friend, for Sunday lunch. Wanting to escape the usual pub roast bravdo we were hoping for something that at least felt a little healthier.
The place totally delivers.. The miss matched upholstered chairs, chandaliers and disco ball are a bit hipster (but I love that). They step nicely away from hipsters with big freshly made cakes propped up at the counter, all accompanied by hand written labels.
We both opted for cooked breakfast (mine the veggie option). The staff were super friendly and tentative and happy to go out if their way for you.
Healthy minds went out the window and we went in for desert too (try the banoffee pie... It was amazing and beautifully fresh). Defo be back

If you are in the area and fancy a nice little tea and cake or an indulgent brunch, then Piecebox is definitely a good bet. With its cosy surroundings, it’s the perfect place to catch up with friends over a nice cuppa or two.

I have found a new favourite: Piecebox in Polwarth. A cafe that just appeared from nowhere, one day we just realized that it was there, a new tempting looking place to munch and lunch! Hooray! I sometimes dream of opening my own cafe/bakery/deli type of a place. If I did, it would be something like Piecebox, for sure. Home baking beautifully displayed, delicious food made from scratch, open kitchen and friendly staff who seem to make everybody feel welcome from the minute you walk in. And no need to mention well thought and hip corporate identity and decor. So we popped in for lunch on a sunny day during the week. I had a chicken pesto salad with avocado and mozzarella, Fentimans 'mandarin and Seville orange' and a cappuccino. Perfect and not too filling as I had my eyes on something sweet to have after.... ...this for dessert, the thing that melted my heart: Banoffee pie, served in a jar. How cute is that! And what's that in a jug? Extra sauce... oh my goodness it was GOOD. Mr Lovable

Really cute cafe with a nice atmosphere. Went in for a quick brunch with the boyfriend, I couldn't decide what to get so in the end we got pancakes, bacon and maple syrup and a portion of eggs benefit with spinach and tomato. Then had half each, cause he's good like that ?? . The eggs Benedict was so good ! !!
We also got a cake each to takeaway ? the cake was homemade and yummy and we were each given a very decent sized slice!

Food and service was both great. I will be back ?

I really like this place- feels like sitting at a friends house. Relaxing and comforting- it gets crazy busy on the weekend's but the weekday lunch menu is great. Best hummus in Edinburgh!

Love this cute cafe! Its quite nearby to where I live so perfect to pop in anytime????

Me and my cousin went for breakfast today! I have tried their pancakes before so instead I ordered a flat white with Egg Benedict and she ordered berry smoothie and full vegetarian English breakfast. Everything was soo yummy! Its also great that there are lots of options for breakfast ????

When we arrived the place was so full but luckily there was a table for the 2 of us! This is a very friendly place to eat out with family/friends. Highly recommend to check it out!

Cozy dog-friendly café with various vegan and gluten free options. Menu with traditional and original dishes. Prices average for Edinburgh centre. We recommend the sweet potato and courgette fritters with sweet chili dressing and satay sauce. The vegan breakfast is tasty and very filling. Had a lovely vegan/gluten free cake with mango lime and berries just a tad too dry. A very nice experience.

We visited Edinburgh for 3 days and we had breakfast here twice!! The owner is lovely and let us come in at 9am, even if they open at 10am! Food is so delicious and the atmosphere is cosy and relaxed. I couldn't recommend this place more.

Popped in for a brunch, around 11.30am.. By the time we ordered drinks, the restaurant filled up very quickly. Mostly locals, although various other accents from tourists could be heard. The menu was very good and catered for vegetarian and vegan, as well as steak and chicken favorites. Good selection of smoothies and milkshakes too. The staff were very helpful on food choices. We left with scrumptious home bakes. Worth another visit..spoiled for choice with the menu.

Really nice space with a big menu, plenty of vegetarian/vegan/gluten free options too. Friendly staff and a little in the pricey side, but the food is quality. I had the vegetarian full breakfast which was superb. One of our party had an undercooked egg and the place is a bit cramped, so it loses a star for that, but on the whole very good!

I wish I had discovered this place before! In it I have tried the best vegan pancakes in the world! They have many vegan options for both breakfast and lunch. The decoration of the place makes it look like you are at home and makes it very cozy and the staff is very nice. Of course in my top10 of totally recommended sites in Edinburgh💚

Lovely place. Food never fails to impress. Serve you fruit infused water on arrival, speedy with orders and service. Staff are friendly and they allow dogs in. Really homey though a bit cramped, but this only adds to the effect. Always busy but we manage to get a table most times, great for vegan, veggie and gluten free and the smoothies are amazing. Definitely a favourite!

Piecebox does the best scrambled eggs I've ever had - absolutely perfect. I live locally and go here fairly regularly: it's a lovely place with a varied menu (tons of options to suit meat eaters, veggies, vegans and those with intolerances to gluten and dairy), brilliant staff and a cheerful atmosphere. You won't find somewhere else nearby as good as this for lunch.

A very comforting cafe, with friendly staff and a somewhat boutique style, which was wonderful to see. The food comes across as healthy and thought through. We ordered prawn and avacado, along with some square sasuage and scrambled eggs. The food overall was great and the portion size large, however the waiting time was almost half an hour. The food took so long we thought our order hadn't gone through...it had, but just took time. The price for the avacado was about £9, which for the size seemed reasonable. If I was in the area again I would certainly drop back in!

Found this place through Instagram and couldn’t have been more delighted when we finally visited! The food was delicious and staff were really friendly. Will definitely be coming back!
