The Jolly Botanist - Edinburgh - Photo album

This place was great. Went with my dad and uncle for some Sunday lunch and was not disappointed at all. The Scottish tapas menu was really well thought out and has something for everyone. We got 3 dishes each, which was more than enough. However, this did make the meal relatively expensive, consi
Recently discovered The Jolly Botanist and have made a couple of visits since then. It has a quirky unique decor inside with is very welcoming and comfortable. The food is fantastic! We opted for the 'scottish tapas' for a little bit of everything. It was all cooked to perfection and every dish
Food was amazing. Short ribs and lamb burgers are definitely worth a try. The drinks were great. Nice decor. Overall, we had a great experience
The place is spacious with a nice vintage decor. We ordered a Sunday Roast with three Scottish tapas - cured salmon, Scotch egg and monkfish cheeks. All food was great - the slices of roast sirloin were flavourful and very tender, and we love all the tapas, particularly the gooey egg yolk in Scotch
Food was great, but a little pricey. Great atmosphere and great drinks. Recommended getting the ribs and the pork belly bites.
Wow, what a venue. Great drinks, food and service. Really busy hub to visit. We stayed for quite sometime taking in the atmosphere. Tad on the pricey side but great for a night out.
Surprisingly high quality dinner, great gins/GTs, nice modernish take on a pub and good service. We had a Sunday roast and a steak sandwich and the latter was probably the best I’ve had.
Chips and cocktails were amazing, nice decor with barrel tables and speedy service. Not too expensive but not quite cheap, would like to see more veggie substitutes (e.g. quorn) on the menu - the fried cauliflower wasn't as good.
An obligatory place to visit for every gin enthusiast. They have a great selection of many different gins from all around the world. Each one has its recommended pairing with tonic and garnish. Also be sure to try some of their light nibbles - the beetroot marinated salmon and tikka skewers are amaz
It was very good. We had dinner, two thumbs up. The adult beverages was also very good. I recommend going and giving them a try.
Checked out this spot on a recent trip to Edinburgh. Trendy looking space and great selection of gin. Enjoyed the gin based cocktail and local beer on tap. Bartender was friendly and informative. I imagine this place would be much busier during peak times (it was empty but we stopped in here late on
Staying at Leonardo’s to visit where my Grandfather grew up. (He was quite the Hearts of Midlothian fan back in his day) Popped into the Jolly Botanist for what was supposed to be a quick one. Angus sat us and was beyond hospitable. Drinks were top notch and served with a smile. Will definitely be b
Fantastic place - we were recommended by a local and were not disappointed. Really friendly staff who guided us through the menu and drinks. The food was great and plentiful, with great flavours for pub food. Decor was great and added to our very good experience. It is a bit of a walk from the centr
Didn't have food only drinks .sorry didt get her but waitress was lovely friendly & knowledgeable about all the different Gins & wines .recommend this place
Jack the bartender was such an amazing mixologist. Hes got a god like way to figuring it your best cocktail! Would recommend to everyone! Try the jolly and find Jack!
First time I've been in this pub, in the Haymarket bit of Edinburgh, pleasant enough pub, no real ale though which was somewhat of a disappointment. Didn't eat so can't comment on the food offer or if there was one !
Nice cosy place for a gin and tonic while waiting for the rain to go away. Food was splendid and the selection of gins was awesome!
Lovely sunny tables to enjoy great tasty cocktails
