It’s a great place to try some authentic Indian with a twist. I personally recommend the samosa chat which is pretty damn good.

Totally recommend! Keep it up.

Cheap and subtle, a great place to grab sone indian snack, their samosa chaat was nice and fulfilling to have. They have a variety of street indian food dishes available.

We are a group of  students over on a Uni trip to Edinburgh, there was 17 of us in Tuk Tuk last night and Sam couldn't have been more accommodating! Food was SO good and such amazing value, however I think more credit should be awarded to the waiters by their superiors, as when I enquired for our waitresses name to quote in this review that was insisted on by the manager, he was pushing his name instead of Sam who did all the hard work!

I had passed Tuk Tuk quite a few times on foot and by bus and it always intrigued me. I am a sucker for good Indian food, and none of that oily take away nonsense.

When we arrived we weren't really sure how it worked, could we just sit down, or do we wait to be seated and we stood there's a while waiting with no one really paying attention to us. Eventually someone came over and said that we could sit any where we would like and seemed annoyed that we didn't know where to go.

Besides that, the service was good. The food came quite promptly and the servers were efficient. I ordered the chicken Korma and asked for them to add a bit of extra chilli in for me and they didn't disappoint with that. My husband had the chicken curry and we also ordered the Bengali fish cakes, masala chips, garlic naan and popadoms. The food that accompanied the meal were all really good!

All the food was hot and delicious! Really fresh and you can tell that they love what they are cooking. It was a lot food and I was so happy to have some to take away in my cute little orange Tuk Tuk bag.

This is a firm favourite in my books. The fact that you can byob for a small price is cool too. The restaurant is colourful and inviting and the atmosphere just make a you want to hang out just a bit longer.

4 points only to the taste of food.
Service was very average and portion were lil tapas.

A good Indian feel to the ambience, gets quite busy as evening sets in.

The food quality is great but not amazing (all the chicken was on the dry side and half the meat was chicken so...)

But what I really loved about this place was the small portions and care/speed of their service. You get to try so many things before feeling full and you can order dishes on the fly because they arrive so quickly.

Simply a great place to grab a variety of basic Indian foods when you don’t want to commit to one!

A RECENT TWITTER chat between myself and fellow blogger Blythe (lunchquest.co.uk) identified the need to establish a new go-to Indian restaurant following the unfortunate closure of our favourite haunt Rivage last year. I had dined at Tuk Tuk before, although never turned my experience into blog copy.  Indian food is a regular thing in my life and filling that void would be difficult.

Great service and food. My family and I have eatin' Indian food all over the world and we truly enjoyed Tuk Tuk. Be careful, the tapas are large than else where.

Amazing Indian food. It wasn't what I was expecting. I guess I got an impression that it would be tiffin-type lunch box food. But then it wouldn't be called street food. In any case, the food was delicious. Bonus that it was BYOB with decent corkage! 50p per table and the staff recommended a local supermarket nearby! If you're after a quick and delicious meal. You won't be disappointed. Be prepared to be chucked out after your meal as tables are oversubscribed.

I had a positive dining experience at this establishment. The food was delicious and came at a reasonable price. However, there is room for improvement in terms of oiliness in some dishes. Overall, it's a place worth considering for a satisfying meal.

Brilliant experience at this Indian cuisine. They have a tapa style concept where all the dishes are of small portion size and priced accordingly. Good range of dishes to select from. Ambience is brilliant with posters of Bollywood movies and quite spacious. The staff explain the concept of their menu and are friendly. The food is apt to its name and tasted amazing. A goto place for an Indian cuisine when in Edinburgh.

The food was lovely, fresh and delicious. There was a lot of variety and while I feel some things were reasonably priced - others like the golgappas (£5+ for 5 tiny golgappas when you can get a plate of 10 for 20p in India - I'm Indian and was craving for these in particular so was disappointed at the quantity) and the Pau bhaaji (2 tiny paus) were just way too overpriced and the price or quantity should be rethought. I got some lamb biryani packed and it was my favourite. My husband loved the ginger garlic chicken with garlic naan. The samosas were hot and yummy. The drinks were refreshing. While upstairs and the restaurant area was clean and tidy, the toilets downstairs need a thorough cleaning. All in all, the atmosphere and service was lovely. Our server Manju was very sweet and helpful in particular.

Got lunch here on Saturday. Wonderful service, perfect ambiance, the interior decor is absolutely gorgeous & food is impeccable and definitely worth the price! Great location and the menu has indicators for what is gluten free, vegan etc which is incredibly efficient for ordering and not having to go through any fuss with the kitchen.

My son recommended Tuk Tuk, which turned out, one of the best in Edinburgh! We both are food lovers and try different cuisine of the world! So this time he recommended for Tuk Tuk…so we decided to go there last Tuesday.. Fantastic service, so delicious foods, loved the vegetarian options, specially the Butter Paneer with a good blend of spices! The atmosphere, decor and music were so great as was delicious mango lassi. Thank you all Tuk Tuk members! I look forward to returning.

Had a good meal at this place. Not strictly indian Street food, the place offers many curries / gravies also. The highlights of the meal were the dal makhani, garlic naans, onion bhajiyas and shikanji. Some of the seniors in our group were starved for indian chaat, they could find a passable dahi Puri and Pani Puri here. The railway mutton curry was actually a palak mutton curry or saag mutton but was quite nice. The service levels were great. We were served by kirti on this occassion who was prompt and considerate. Would recommend this place. Also the place is BYOB where you can carry in wine or beer if you like.

Tuk Tuk was a good find in Edinburgh. It’s themed after the street vendors in India. We had the samosa chaat and pav bhaji. I would definitely recommend the samosa chaat, pav bhaji was spicy and buttery but can be skipped. For the mains, we had Saag Paneer and Garlic Naan which were delicious. If you’re looking for Indian food, you should definitely visit.

Everything was amazing about this place, friendly staff, great food. They do not serve alcohol but there is a co-op next door that will be able to sort that out, the restaurant allows you to take beer and wine for a small recycling fee. So many different options to choose from, a must visit if you're into Indian food!

During my holidays, I visited this restaurant that I somehow missed during my two years of living there. What a hidden gem it turned out to be! I can't believe I didn't discover it sooner. I had the pleasure of indulging in their mouthwatering dishes and let me tell you, I wish I had more days in Edinburgh just to eat at this place. As someone who grew up in Maharashtra, I was seriously missing vada pav, pav bhaji, and mango mastani, and this restaurant brought back all those nostalgic flavors in full force. Each bite transported me back to the streets of my hometown, and it was absolutely fantastic. I tried a whole array of dishes, and every single one was simply amazing. And hold up, we can't forget about the masala chai. It was like a warm hug from a local chaiwala, with that incredible aroma that instantly wakes you up and soothes your soul. Pure chai perfection! Now, let's talk about the cherry on top of this already incredible experience—the Bollywood playlist. Whoever curated that playlist deserves a round of applause. The songs were on point and added that extra touch of magic to the whole dining experience. To say I can't wait to return to this place would be an understatement. I am already counting down the days until I can have another taste of their deliciousness. If you're in Edinburgh or planning a visit, do yourself a favor and make a beeline for this restaurant. You won't regret it, my friend. It's a culinary journey that will leave you with a heart full of joy and a stomach full of pure bliss.
