Been here a couple of times and it’s good food for a buffet style restaurant. Tables and cleared quickly by friendly staff and the restaurant has an overall busy, but pleasant, atmosphere. Tables are quite close together though - assuming you fit in more diners are it gets VERY busy, which is a good sign - so be prepared to weave with your plate. Overall it’s a lovely place to get your hands on a variety of grub with friends and family and Is the perfect place to eat if you watch something at The Play House as it’s right next door.
Absolutely excellent! fresh food and a variety of choices! Lovely staff and great atmosphere! Really enjoyed my visit to cosmo, will definitely come back soon.
Great for a big eat this place is for food lovers having different cuisine and has friendly staff
The interior is good as well
Coming to the price it’s very affordable comparing to other place you can’t find different cuisine buffets for this price it’s really amazing
Everything is lively and finger licking especially for the tourist from abroad had a chance to taste multicuisine
Wanted to book for 7pm on a Saturday night but just happened to be the same day as Scotland v Wales 6 nations game!! However they suggested that we turn up just before opening 5pm and we'd be able to eat., otherwise it would be after 8pm. Took the chance and wasn't disappointed. All food well cooked. Only downside was the ice cream was very runny.
Been here a number of times during my stay at Edinburgh as a Student , and was mind blown every single time. The variety of food in the Buffet setting is unbelievable. You can find over 150 varieties of food at this Rey for just £7.99. The Ambience and Decor inside feels truly British.
Been here many times,
food is Good
Ambience 😍
staff is friendly and helpful 👍🏻
Variety of Different Cuisines.
Overall a Great experience every single time👍🏻
The place is really good as there are a lot of dishes(+150) the live counters were great. The pricing was totally worth. Service and ambiance was exceptional.💕
Nice place for those who want Asian cuisine in Edinburgh. It's quite spacious, good ambience though crowded. You will find all kind of Foods from Japan,China,India and Thailand. Dessert options is also good. No paneer dish in Indian menu. Yellow dal and Chole is good. You get hot Nan served.
One of the best dining experience I've had in Edin! Imagine £8 for all-you-can-eat on weekdays lunchtime! Most of their servings are all delicious with such a wide array of choices. From Indian to Thai, Iced Creams to Sushi, you must've been crazy to miss this one while in Edin (especially when you need some food to stuff up down your belly). Didn't take a lot of pictures since I was too busy jumping from plate to plate... Be aware that dinnertime is offered with different price and different menu (they have teppanyaki, etc). It sometimes get packed quickly during lunch so be prepared to arrive here the moment they open.
Excellent food and very diversified with good flavours.
Compared with other places no doubt that price /quality is excellent.
I never regretted being at Cosmos so far as always was good value for money.
Cannot give 5 stars as I think there is still room for improvement from some staff that do not look friendly but this is based on my point of view.
Located in the Omni Centre, Cosmo offers a well spread out buffet of various cuisines such as Indian, Italian, Oriental and British. They also have live cooking stations where the Chefs can prepare certain dishes on request.
The venue is well spread out and can get packed during dinner time. The food is delicious especially the meat section. Cosmos managed to bring out the true authentic flavors for each cuisine and that was quite impressive. Cosmos also has a decent variety of salads and soups however their desserts turned out to be a disappointment in terms of balancing the flavors. Other than the Chocolate Mousse, the rest of the desserts were medicore.
Despite the desserts, Cosmo is a nice place to visit for drinks and dinner as the service is good and the servers are friendly.
The place is really good. Perfect ambience and friendly staff. I may complain about the reception are and the lack of space to wait so to be seated. However I recommend the place for dinner so that there are mre variety and additional plates that may not be available for lunch. Quality/price wise, it is quite good. Recommended
Fave place to eat in Edinburgh! Right in the heart of edinburgh, easy to get to, food is awesome, such a variety! From your lasagne to your sushi, definitely a place i would recommend! However there should be more staff as we waited a while to get our drinks!

Omg! This place... I HAVE NO WORDS, if you love food, and lots of it, and different types THIS is what you NEED in your life, when I found this I was in heaven, it has everything you can think of! Thai, American, English, ahhhh sushi everything! Need to book well in advanced or get there hoping there is space but OMG ITS A MUST!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE! foooooh id walk there right now from london to have one of those!
Buffet King. This new addition to the Edinburgh buffet scene really moves the game on big time. It's hard not to be impressed by the beautiful interior and the immense choice on offer. Unlike most buffets, the chefs are there for all to see busily preparing the dishes. There is no reheated leftovers here !! I really enjoyed my visit and it's clearly caught the imagination of the locals. By the time I left, the place was very busy. Highly recommended.
I am a buffet person and buffets make me happy as did this one. The ambience is great, best looking restaurant I've visited in the city for sure, and from the very entrance to the reception to the waiters and finally the payment counter; the staff and service is great! It wasn't a surprise to me that every table was taken and birthday celebrations were a common site, but what did surprise me is that even with all the crowd, you didn't have to wait on someone coming to pick your plates up or ask you if you needed water or napkins and that's just such a great characteristic for any restaurant to have.
So now for the interesting bit: there are separate counters for different cuisines (just how we love it), and thus there aren't separate counters for starters and main course as such.. But as you walk around one counter it gradually moves from starters to salad to main course. So I took 2 helpings for starters and was already impressed! The taco is a self-filling-mini-station kinda thing and the sushi is right next to a teppanyaki counter which I was so excited about! Regardless, the sushi was ahmazuuung but the teppanyaki chef was so dull and bored and honestly just seemed frustrated to the point that I didn't want to go for another round to him even though the teppanyaki squid and prawns were magnificent! I'm trying not to make this too long so I'll get to this: all the counters except Indian was okay (the Indian bread was too hard) and the American and Chinese/Thai were all really satisfying in my opinion. There are definitely hits and misses, but more hits for sure. Though in all honesty, I went to Cosmo for the chocolate fountain because it's been a while and I have my cravings; guess what wasn't working? The dessert section definitely had more misses than hits and that's painful because who doesn't love dessert?
All in all, for 14£, I definitely ate worth a whole lot more and yes, I'm super satisfied and will give it another visit after confirming that the chocolate fountain is functioning.
Oh my what an experience this is, a Sunday lunchtime before heading to an event, we popped in here (we had booked which was a bit of a hassle as it took ages to get through on the phone but worth it on arrival)
The food is a great selection, well cooked and damn tasty, for value for money there's not much better anywhere in Edinburgh The drinks prices are also a lot cheaper than normal central edinburgh prices
Comes highly recommended
I LOVED the food here! I am usually very careful about world buffets but this is so fresh. There was loads of choice and all was really well made. The desserts were something else it was like a sweetie shop! The staff were very friendly and just a feel good atmosphere. Be prepared to wait if you haven't booked. I waited up to an hour for a table and it was worth it!!
I love food. I really do love food. And I love eating a bit of everything to maintain a balanced meal. And what better place to get good food, freshly made, than a buffet. I've been a world buffets and buffets around the world! This place is a danger for other asian buffet places in Edinburgh.
They have huge choices here, and regularly updates their food probably due to seasonal produce, so next week, you could be getting a really good steak pie in the British section, or lamb chops.
I find all the staff here very attentive, friendly and hard working.
Cosmo is charming, cheerful place, competitive, clean, casual, contemporary food. :) Have taken family, friends, business partners, colleagues here and a place I've always recommended to tourists.
I visited here for a family meal not that long ago, and my word was it worth the wait. My dad and stepmum had to book a table weeks in advance because it has become so popular.
The variety of food on offer was terrific, I kept going back to the live cooking sections though, I think I must have eaten my yearly quota of squid in one sitting.
It is the perfect all you can eat, as the variety of food keeps you going, changing from Chinese to Italian to Brazilian is something which helps you get the most out of your money. The drinks are bottomless as well, meaning free refills all round.
The food feels crafted, rather than mass produced like it is in other all you can eat buffets, and you get the feeling that the chefs for each delicacy have sweated over making it as delicious as it could be.
The dessert selection is also fantastic, it's not just the run of the mill ice cream scoops and jelly pots, but instead chocolate brownies, white chocolate fountains and things such as wine gums.
A great place for a sociable bite to eat, and to introduce yourself to a food you haven't had before.
Fantastic place to visit... The food and staff were just fabulous... I don't normally eat dessert but I couldn't resist todays buffet menu... And really good value for money...

"COSMO in Edinburgh was my first buffet restaurant experience in the UK, and it offered a diverse array of foods. While there was an abundance of choices, I felt the selection was more inclined towards Chinese cuisine. As someone with an Indian palate, I found the Indian variety a bit limited, leaving me longing for more. However, the sheer range of dessert options was commendable, with something to satisfy every sweet tooth. Overall, it's a good place to explore global flavours, but those craving more Indian dishes might find it a tad lacking."
Lots of food choices, which is great. I did try the Chinese, Thai and Indian food. Would be a good idea to have Mexican or South American food too.
Very well designed. Great tables to sit at.
Unlimited soda!
Lots of food to stuff your face with. Pizza. Mussels. Turkey. Gammon. Lasagne. Fries. Hash browns. Beijing ribs. Sweet and sour chicken. Lots of Chinese food. Thai meatballs. Ice cream machine. Candy. Chocolate fountain. Marshmallows. Popcorn.
Loved it.
If I were to add a suggestion, I would hope that there would be a better selection of sushi. There was no salmon maki or nigiri.
Nice restaurant, great food qnd wonderful service. I enjoyed my meals and time there. The staff are very polite and quick to clean your table once you are done. They really did help me out with my baby(providing her high chair, picking her play things when they fell). There is also variety of meals you can select from and I enjoyed every single meal I had.
Cosmo never disappoints, is and will always be my guilty pleasure, make sure you try a little bit of everything cause every dish tastes amazing 🍤
Overwhelmed with the ambience of the restaurant. Food varieties need to be increased and seats are found to be torn which may cause discomfort . The food which is provided is tasty and I had a wonderful evening last week along with my friends.
I recently dined at Cosmos Buffet in Edinburgh, and I had a great experience. The variety of dishes was impressive, and the food was fresh and tasty. The staff was attentive, and the ambiance was pleasant. My only minor complaint is that some dishes could have been warmer. Overall, a good place for a buffet dining experience.
The food was nice and the cocktail I had was yummy 😋!
I only give it 4 stars because we weren't told that we have the option to pay for unlimited refill of drinks and 5 minutes before we had to leave because they were closing ( we knew they were going to close soon) when I asked about the drinks they pretended that they didn't understand the question and we paid almost £4 for quarter glass of a very poor quality Pepsi. We would definitely go to eat again, but, make sure you check the menu first and don't rely on asking the waitresses.
This is a good restaurant. While it is not the best COSMO I've been to (it is definitely outmatched by COSMO Manchester and COSMO Aberdeen), it is still a good restaurant nonetheless. The selection and variety of food is not as vast as the other two I mentioned, but I still enjoyed my time here. I like the buffet system of the restaurant and the prices are not extortionate. Food is tasty and it's definitely a good venue for lunches and dinners, both formal and semi-formal.
Went for lunch here on a Saturday afternoon and the place was packed.
The food was pretty nice with a large amount of asian and Indian selections and a robust desserts and a teppanyaki section. The items were fresh and were being replaced fairly quickly when things were running out.
Order the drinks when you sit down and the servers ask. They get really busy in the middle of service and any order you place then usually takes a bit of time.
Items I really loved : Lamb Rogan Josh, Prawns, Steaks and Salmon made to order on the live grill.
Fantastic all you can eat buffet with Italian, British, Indian, Chinese, Thai and Japanese cuisines. Ohh and a chocolate fountain!
There is something for 6 here. The quality of food is good and it's all hot and kept refilled. Indian korma was delicious, sweet, and sour chicken also good. Lots of choice refillable drinks. And lots of dessert choice and of course a chocolate fountain. Overall, it's good value for money .
Nice buffet restaurant, the food is fresh, you have a lot of choices, but some of the dishes are quite sweet.
No complaints here. For the price and compared to whats available in the area this was great. Not a quiet place when busy (obviously). Staff were friendly and helpful. Great selection and would recommend. Thanks
