We came at a quite time of day for lunch and were served promptly. The food was amazing and the service was also great.

great atmosphere, great cocktails and food. the main reason we came back to edinburgh was to get the alcoholic milkshakes from here. 10/10 recommend

Great food and a fantastic waitress. We had an Itison voucher and it worked out great. Not sure I'd be happy paying full price for what we got but a nice weekend place anyway.

Amazingly quick service from helpful staff. Great food that arrived fast and good sized portions. 50% off food made it great value. Try the Rum Daisy cocktail, one of the most beautifully balanced drinks I've ever had - my husband ordered one too!

Went for lunch with a group from work. The food was nice and the soundtrack (80s/90s music with a beat) was fun. It was clean and comfortable. The service was friendly if a little slow, especially for an office lunch (and only a couple of other tables taken). It's not a place I'd take kids, with naked pin-up style graphics on the condiment bottles and even on the blackboard roof but it's a comfortable atmosphere for adults.

Funky little burger place at the top of Princes St in a little cobbled lane. Been several times with Itison deals and had both beef and chicken burgers with fries and cocktails. Really good size portions. Other food looked good too especially nachos!

Great staff, nice food and good cocktails. I visited because of a Groupon offer which made it great value. But even normally it's not expensive for Edinburgh. I was really happy with the whole meal (the nachos were so good)... except the salad it was a sad show of shredded and diced lettuce, tomatoes and cucumber with a weak dressing, which was a shame.

The staff are really friendly and attentive even when busy! They have a good range of cocktails and the food was really nice, although portions could maybe be a bit bigger given the price. Nice, lively atmosphere - there is a DJ so if you are after somewhere where you can chat comfortably I would maybe head somewhere quieter.

A very American lard led menu of loaded fries and waffles and the like. Alongside a decent beer selection and good tunes. I had the chicken and waffles with loaded fries. Good fries. I could have eaten them twice. Waffle was a bit out of a packet but otherwise decent. Definitely worth a try.

I really like Sygn, and I have enjoyed visiting for Friday night drinks and for a quiet Tuesday dinner and cocktail night with friends. It has a convenient location tucked away in the West End (although I find the street a bit dirty and dodgy, although perfectly safe). Based on its location, it has West End cocktail prices but I love the extensive menu of a huge variety of interesting cocktails - some were quite ordinary but others were really delicious, interesting, and beautifully presented. The mocktails were definitely overpriced, which is really a shame, though. As for food, they brought around delicious samples of their pizza the first time I was there. The next time I was back I opted for the steak and cheese burger, which was delicious on a brioche bun. I thought the skinny fries didn't blow me away and could have been much better, but I really did like the burger.

Great burgers! Music slightly too loud for dining but very good otherwise.

Food us delicious with a bit of variety from the usual fare found in similar places. Cocktails are fantastic but a little on the small side for the price. What stopped me giving 5 stars was the fact that we went for something to eat late afternoon and had to shout at each other to be heard over the music, the dj kept turning it up and down, don't think he realised everyone was eating dinner not looking to dance.

I eat out at Sygn regularly and I am never dispointed. Good varied menu of burgers, pizzas, hot dogs, sandwiches, wraps and lots of sharers items. Their cocktails are lovely, easy to spend hours in here pouring over the cocktail menu. The surroundings are comfortable and trendy. Staff are lovely and always helpful, you can now book online too, which is handy as its always always busy!

I went to Sygn with my wife early this week and have to say it was one of the best eating experiences of my life! The bar/restaurant itself was very clean and tidy and decorated well. The staff were second to none, quite possibly the highest level of service there could be! And as for the food, well lets just say that I would rank as possibly the 3rd best experience of my life, behind my marriage and birth of my children (although depending on their behaviour on any given day it might slip into second place!!). I would highly recommend Sygn whether your looking for a bite to eat or just a nice place to grab a drink and if you do I would suggest the Depeche mode cocktail!

I really love this place. Amazing food and a really central location. The staff are always awesome and the drinks are pretty reasonable. That being said, they can be a bit slow with the ol' drinks order so make sure you grab someone's attention before they disappear into the nether again. There's always deals going on (I'm talking a burger and drink for xx amount on deal sites) so you're always best to check for those first. If not, it's still well worth the money.

Sygn is a popular cocktail bar in the west end of Edinburgh. We went on a Friday night after work and it was already busy, most of the tables were reserved however it was a nice evening so we got a table outside. The cocktail menu is great, very inspiring and difficult to choose! There is a £5 menu as well a the regular cocktail menu which start at about £7.50. I had a mango cocktail and it was lovely, it does take a little longer to get served however that is to be expected when the bar tenders are making so many cocktails. I did not try the food however it looked good, I don't think I would rush to specifically eat there but next time we may get some sharers or nibbles with the cocktails. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, the bar tenders knew a few tricks too.

Best burgers in Edinburgh!! That includes the beef and the chicken (haven't tried the others yet). So moist and flavorful and the perfect bun! Most other burger joints are let down by buns that are too doughy and overpowering or too dry and crumbly - but the Sweet, delicate brioche buns at Sygn are sheer perfection! I've brought visitors from Europe here and they felt it was the highlight of their visit - the cool setting and the great food at a great price was a great addition to their tour of Edinburgh. I was particularly impressed by their homemade (well home fried) nachos! OK maybe the chorizo isn't totally authentic but boy does it taste good - as does the fried halloumi on the generous tasting platter. So why only 4 stars? Service. Is usually always slow but sometimes even a bit complacent. As if they prefer to be a bar but... 'if you want food, I suppose we can serve it to you...if we must...' Shame because I think it has put some people off.

Good bar for either lunch/dinner or just some drinks. Medium sized and with a separate private room that you can book for drinks (it also has a ping pong table in it). There is also some outdoor seating, although its not terribly pleasant sitting outside as you're really blocking the pavement and there's a fair amount of passing traffic. They offer cocktail making classes.
