Came here for a few drinks and possibly a bite to eat. The barmaids (Caroline and Megan) were lovely and really patience when taking forever to decide what we wanted to eat, after deciding we were going to stay. Did not pressure and knew when to come up to ask what we wanted to order.
Really friendly staff towards everyone and a lovely atmosphere.

Hamiltons is what I would call my local. I’m not a regular but have frequented the place a few times over the past few years. It’s located in a very handy spot just opposite the bus stop on Hamilton Place and is a stone’s throw away from the very popular and busy Sunday Stockbridge Market. It benefits from high footfall and the flurry of tourists and locals alike that like to meander through the pretty streets of Stockbridge.

After walking to Dean Village, my boyfriend and I decided to have lunch in Stockbridge. We had never been to Hamilton's but we were tempted in by the menu.
It's quite big inside and has a good selection of seating, from big tables with comfy sofas or smaller, more formal tables; this means that it is ideal for all occasions. We chose a comfy seat and spent the next few minutes debating what to pick from the many tasting sounding items on the menu!
Finally, I decided to go with the corn chips and Sam went for the steak ciabatta. We didn't have to wait too long for our food to come, but we enjoyed the view out of the large windows whilst we waited. My corn chips were a huge portion and were covered in jalapeños, salsa, smashed avocado and sour cream, as well as chicken. The flavours were great, especially the chicken and smashed avocado - I was very happy with my choice! Sam loved his steak ciabatta and twice cooked chips; I had a taste and it was delicious, the steak was cooked perfectly.
I'll definitely go back to Hamilton's as they have so many appealing items on their menu and I loved the relaxed feel inside. They also have a great drinks menu that I would love to try.
Great menu of main dishes and "small bites" so perfect for drinks. There's a separate seating area if you are having a meal though which was lovely. Service was quick and friendly, and accomodating of special requests. The food was fantastic- highly recommend the veggie burger!
A great place for a beer or for food. I've been in Hamilton's many times and its always good. The have Innis and Gunn lager on tap and also the bottled beers. When I have had food there its been great and very tasty!
I've been to Hamiltons a few times now and they always serve good hearty grub and great drinks. My favourite is their brunch/lunch menu which is awesome. I am very partial to their sliced avocado, poached egg and sourdough served with chorizo jam - it is meant to be 'small' but actually pretty filling and very very good! My other favourite is the Moules frites which is also fab, well flavoured and great portion size. My husband and friends have tried their deep fried halloumi ( also very good, I've had a taste), their sandwiches and burgers. I like the decor and ambience of Hamilton's too - always upbeat. Finally, they take the Tastecard which means food is even better value. Definitely recommend it.
Hamilton’s has a great brunch menu, ranging from the old favourite full Scottish breakfast to more adventurous options such as avocado and poached egg on toast with chorizo jam. It was a great meal and I will definitely be back soon to sample their lunch and dinner.
Went to hamiltons the other day and was quite impressed with their cocktails. There was a lot of people, including groups of rowdy men. The staff are all pretty fit (guys and girls). This place is definitely a keeper!!!!!!!
A Stockbridge Gem!. I have been to Hamilton's a few times now and it never disappoints! It's a great place to come with a group of friends or as a couple, it caters to everyone. The staff are really friendly and welcoming and are always happy to recommend dishes and cocktails. My favourite main course is the fish stew, which comes with amazing home made bread, and for something to share, you can't go wrong with the nachos! My favourite cocktails on the list has to be the fabulous Clover Club!
I always have a great time at Hamilton's whether it's for lunch, dinner or drinks with friends. Five stars!
Excellent service. Very good food. The king prawns and chorizo were super. Blown away by the tomato sauce with the mussels.
Visited for lunch. Very clean. comfortable seating. Decent selection on the lunch menu. Staff were very welcoming. O had the short rib open sandwich, it was excellent. Great selection of drinks. Highly recommended. Will return when back in the area. Thanks Boss.
We didn't get food but I'm sure it would have been excellent based on the warm reception my wife and in-laws received when we arrived for drinks. Cosy layout and great choice of drinks. Wee nooks to hide away in and well laid out. Will be back to taste the food, so watch this space.
It was a cold wet night. Not many folk were about and we enjoyed what we set out for, a quiet candle lit dinner for 2. Our waitress was very kind and helpful and while not the normal busy atmosphere the vibe I caught was of staff who worked hard and try to set a good standard. The food was excellent.
A Friday lunchtime visit. Lovely staff (Robbie)food (chips and smoked salmon burger were delish)and atmosphere. Mellow, traditional but arty. The bannister rail was surprisingly sticky. Lol.
Visited tonight (4 pers). Just a few drinks with family The service was excellent, very friendly and courteous. The food looked delicious so well be back for another visit.
This is a great place to chill and finish you evening. We enjoy the drinks they make and the food is really great. The atmosphere is wonderful and Hamilton became a daily visit for us whilst in Stockbridge.
Prompt friendly and efficient table service. Great range of beers on top awesome cocktail menu. Great comradery between the hosts.
Had drinks and dinner here tonight and were pleasantly surprised with everything we had! For drinks we had a Negroni and Aperol Spritz. Dinner was Chicken Confit and Pork Belly. The chicken confit was deliciously rich and paired perfectly with the sweetness of the corn. Pork belly was perfectly cooked and curry sauce was just sweet enough to cut the fat of the pork belly and not too spicy. There was not a kids menu but our son devoured the sausage roll which was available on the main menu. Service was very pleasant and we would be glad to go back again! Many were there for drinks and the atmosphere was upbeat and fun. Can’t go wrong with this one!
