Popped in here last Thursday with my brother for a quick bit to eat, we were expecting the usual restaurant chain type food but we were pleasantly surprised and thoroughly enjoyed it. Staff were all friendly, great choice on the menu, food was very tasty with some unusual twists. The Wild Boar Polpette were delicious as a starter as was the Risotto pollo. And they do great pizza too. Good wine list at sensible prices. Will definitely go back.
A good Italian joint which a nice selection of menu. Speciality being the stone baked pizza and garlic bread. The ambiance is quite cosy and the staffs are very friendly. would love to visit again.
pocket pinch for 4 adults and a kid £72 including drinks.
Zizzi's is centrally located on Queensferry Street and offers your usual Italian fare of pasta, bread and pizza. Staff were very friendly and the restaurant was buzzing with customers. There is a good choice of starters and main courses which made it quite difficult to decide what to choose. One of things I enjoyed most with the meal was their garlic bread with cheese and caramelised onions. I had linguine with tomatoes and king prawns and was impressed with their generous portion sizes although I struggled to finish. I was looking forward to their dessert selection, but had our friend's birthday cake to enjoy. I guess that means we'll need to visit again sometime just to try out their dessert menu!
On our one day in Edinburgh, we walked all over the New Town searching for a place to eat after facing endless waiting times at three other Italian chains. We finally found a table at Zizzi, and our woes ended as the meal was perfectly good and far better than our experience with the London outlets. The Pizzass were huge and satisfying and the house red worked well for us. Desserts too did not disappoint - stick to all things chocolatey, IMO. And while all we were looking for after walking for an hour was just food, the maitre'd and our waiter were charming enough.
The food was amazing and had a feel of true italian dining! We enjoyed a fresh pasta mean and lasagne which were both great. They also had good cocktails. The staff was very friendly and ensured a lovely excperience for us
Food is nice, staff is friendly and helpful. Would recommend and will visit again.
The rustica style pizza was the perfect amount of food for 1 person. It’s thin, crispy and full of taste. Highly recommend!
One of the best pizzas and pastas I have ever had. The staff was really good. Good ambience as well.
It's actually less fun to post these reviews when all i have to say is "Wow!" Great!" "Amazing!". Well, Zizzi's is one of our family's favorite places in Edinburgh. Personally, I haven't had anything i didn't like. Flavor is always good, presentation is always good.
I suppose I have two minor "complaints", but they hardly count as such...
1. Very crowded. Of course, they're a good restaurant... so they should be. 🤷♂️
2. They had to move from the Royal Mile down to Queensferry street. This is really not important and they're still very accessible... but I miss the views up on the Royal Mile.
Great food, particularly the fondue sharer starter. Staff are lovely - really helpful and friendly. Absolutely recommend!
Myself and my wife had lunch here today.
I have to say it was spectacular food.
And the waitress was totally attentive to all our needs. It's actually the very first time we have been asked about allergy details before we even had a table. So professional 👏 👌
We will definitely be back.
Recommended the truffle carbonarra 100%
I literally mopped the plate with the garlic bread it was so tasty.
Great place to stop for lunch while touring around Edinburgh. Great menu and service. Had a huge calzone cooked perfectly.
Lovely get together with the family. 1st time in Zizzi. Great place to meet up- nice surroundings. Staff very helpful. All enjoyed our meal xx
Pleasant decoration with nice rustic looking tables. Very nice long thin pizza cooked in a wood fire oven which exactly what you want from any Italian eatery! Not many Italians working there though which is a bit of a shame.
The menu is nice but not entirely traditional to Italy. The staff are friendly and accommodating but a bit short on hearing or memory as they didn’t give us a side we ordered.
It’s a little bit of a walk up the stairs to the toilets, but not really an issue. Pleasant decoration with nice rustic looking tables.
Can’t really fault it to be honest. 4/5
