I knew this was a very important ice cream shop in Scotland, producing ice cream for many places all over the country. I have been here twice in 5 days as I really liked it. Very original flavours, most of them really nice (I am not a fan of irn bru sorbet) and a really good price! And it seems they have different flavours quite often, great! And it is open quite late. I live nearby, so I will definitely come back here soon.
Lucas is the perfect way to celebrate hump day. I have only been here to take away an ice cream, but I have never been disappointed!
The ice cream is especially creamy, the mint choc chip is my favourite. Mostly they keep the same flavours but change a couple, which is good. The cherry cola sorbet is another of my preferred choices, although the irn bru sorbet is also delicious.
My latest tasting as been the banana hot fudge sundae with banoffee ice cream; it was unreal!
I look forward to trying more of Lucas yummy selection.
Lucas is best known for it's ice cream and you happen to pop by and try some, you certainly won't be disappointed. With it's budget friendly portions, I would recommend a scoop of irn bru sorbet and a scoop of red bull sorbet.
If you are looking for some good food and even more brilliant icecream I would recommend cafe Luca. It is relatively known that this is the best icecream parlour in Edinburgh. If visiting I would recommend getting one of their burgers and of course icecream. Last time that I visited I had sticky toffee pudding and it was the best that I have ever had. Not only was the quality amazing there was plenty of toffee sauce and a very generous slice of pudding.
Go here if you want good food and great service.
Fantastic, perfect for pre cinema meal and dessert. Staff were lovely, chatty and helpful, great location, clean and modern. Food was tasty and Luca's ice cream is still as good as it was 40 years ago when I first had it. The best!
Our daughter suffers from severe allergies. We've learned that how a team deals with allergies is a great indicator of the overall quality of the venue. Lara's service at Luca's couldn't have been better.
When we informed her of the allergies she reacted calmly and kindly. She showed us the fullista of ingredients for everything. She used a fresh tub, a clean scoop and washed her hands thoroughly before serving us. These steps are important, but what set her and the team apart was the attitude and competence. Our daughter's allergies weren't seen as a problem, or a hassle. She was made to feel valued and safe.
With that kind of service, training and attitude it's no surprise that the rest of the experience at Luca's is excellent.
Dogs are welcome and customers keep them under control.
Kudos and my thanks to the team and management. This is what good looks like.
You get what you pay for! Delicious ice creams with a nice range of creative flavours 🍦. This is a popular place so expect queues at peak times. They also sell all sorts of treats from candy to chocolate bars. The prices are well set given the quality of the ice cream. If you want a better bargain, go for the pre-packaged tubs in the freezers. We gave 4 stars because the person serving the ice cream wasn't wearing gloves and given they touch around including the cone you eat, we felt it was important to drop a star. Overall, a great ice cream place and a definitely worth a visit!
Always come here when I’m in Edinburgh, it’s an institution! Black Cherry is the bomb!!
We went here for lunch in July 2023. Menu is excellent with great smaller dish options. Food was served quickly and was great value.
But remember you are here for the ice cream. The sundaes are epic.
Coffee is notably good also
Tasty ice-cream especially if you don't eat certain flavours. Loved vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, raspberry, Nutella flavours hated the mint flavour. Mint in other brands is good but not at at Lucas. Good customer service we normally get 1 litre tub that's 12 scoops of ice-cream for less than £6.
The ice-cream is very good even if the flavours can occasionally be a bit classic orientated. Would recommend to take the ice cream to go as the sit in is a bit dingy. However holy corner has a plethora of sunny spots to enjoy
Very good ice-cream with a huge variety of toppings and accessories. Not the cheapest, but you do get what you pay for. A wide range of freshly made ice creams with interesting twists and flavours. Recommended.
Great ice-cream shop you can never go wrong with it. If I'm nearby I'll pop in quickly and if I have time on my hands I'll get some food from upstairs. Great for all and would recommend.
I love the variety of ice creams they have. The only thing was that they didn't have my flavour which is pistachio and amazingly today I visited the Musselburgh shop looking for pistachio flavour and they didn't have it as well so I ended up buy peach and salted caramel
Recent warm weather has made it necessary to have ice-cream as dessert. The only place for me to go is Luca's at Churchill
Large range of flavours but decided on tubs of vanilla and raspberry
Great spot for flavour some ice cream. Do not miss the dark chocolate a d coconut flavour. Highly recommended
Best Ice-cream ever!!!! I make at least one trip to S.Luca's whenever I am in Edinburgh.
But aside from their scrumptious ice cream, they also do other delicious treats. My latest find is Snowballs! Ate 4 of them in one sitting - divine! ♡
The BEST! Always so happy to be able to get a gluten free cone, and they always take ice cream from a new tub to avoid cross contamination! Thank you S Luca🥹💕
