Super healthy & vegan cafe offering a great selection. Small space, but managed to get a seat for a smoothie bowl for breakfast in The Grassmarket. Delicious & beautiful!
If you are looking for something super healthy to eat or into organic and vegan food, then this is a great wee cafe to head for. Situated in the Grassmarket just underneath Dancebase, it's fridges are teaming with salads, quinoa, vegetable bowls, smoothies, health shots, juices etc.
The space is small with 3 tables that can seat up to 10 people but its popular with lunch time take-aways.
I initially just went in for a coffee which is made with milk alternatives - almond milk, soya or coconut; but overheard that they had a peanut curry available for lunch. I'd already made my mind up at the mention of peanuts!
I ordered the peanut vegetable curry with brown rice. It was good, filling, hearty and healthy. The carrots and the chickpeas bulked out the curry and the rice provided the rich nutty flavour. Prefect for a rainy dreig day in Edinburgh. It's a little pricey but the food is good.
This recent open restaurant/café in Edinburgh is really amazing! Nice options both vegan and organic which is something I really like even I don't follow a restrict vegan diet.
It is a bit expensive and it does not have a huge variety to choose from for lunch. Places to seat are not that many as well, but the place is so welcoming and the concept so refreshing, the staff so nice, that I had to give a great rate.
Cute little cafe right in the middle of Edinburgh, serving only vegan food. The overall atmosphere was really pleasant, it was warm & cosy inside with sparkling fairy lights and cookbooks to read at each table.
I really wanted to love the food, however I felt that the soup was fairly unsubstantial, lacking in richness. I would’ve liked it to include some kind of protein or carbohydrate like beans or barley or potato, I have higher expectations for vegan food at a vegan cafe.
They seem to focus more on sweets and coffee so I will definitely be returning to try a vegan pumpkin spice latte.
All food is so good ! And healthy ! Great place !
I've tried the Cappuccino with hazelnut milk and a peanut / strawberry cake. Delicious
I was there with my partner just for 2 cups of cappuccino, we ordered the coconut one and the hazelnuts one. Both were delicious and boosted mine day. I didn't try food, but by look good. I think i can recommend this cafe for others visitor's, specially for vegetarian/vegan ones. (Gluten free, Dairy free, Refined Suggar free, Organic, Vegan). Enjoy your visit here. And I forgot staff... They are friendly :)
Nice atmosphere, very nice breakfast. My girlfriend had nut butter with banana on toast and it looked delicious. I did have a try and it was covered in nut butter making it hard to swallow but tasted nice.
Amazing food!! As a gluten and dairy allergy sufferer it is great to find somewhere I can eat anything. Everything is also vegan and has no refined sugar. We had a lovely meal and then a brownie which was amazing!!! It was so good we went back the next day for takeaway cake!!
Lovely small cafe, great vegan/vegetarian options. Disappointed that they had all non dairy milk alternatives accept soya, so was a bit strange having a coffee with something new.
Not a bad place to go for a quick lunch. Very interesting and unique foods and flavours! I just had the broccoli soup and a coconut and chickpea wrap which was delicious. Lovely staff but tables are very small, and cramped into a tiny space so best to get a takeaway.
Very nice vegan and gluten free cakes and drinks. My tea latte was a bit cold though, but I'll definitely come back!
Vegan cafe on the grassmarket. Just had a hot drink. They do coffee and teas and cakes and savoury food but no decaf. Instead they offer some unusual caffeine free hot drinks. I tried one and liked it a lot. Access is level with the pavement though if you're in a wheelchair you may need help with the doors. The toilet is on the ground floor too and while not officially set up for wheelchair users, you may manage it, depending on your mobility. I managed to take a photo of the inside of the bathroom. Certainly the bathroom door seemed wide enough and the bathroom itself relatively spacious. If they were to slightly rethink the layout it should be possible to make it fully accessible.
My favourite vegan and healthy spot in Edinburgh! Great staff and tasty food, love it!
Small place with fresh and good quality food. The dragonfruit bowl is amazing (also the protein punch smoothie) and they also offer a hot dish every day. Good vibes and atmosphere!
Delicious gluten free + vegan food! Limited choice which is perfect for the indecisive! Staff where lovely and accommodating!
Really enjoyed this little restaurant. Really small and idyllic place, kind staff and a good salad. Just my type of a place. Would go there again.
Adorable little coffee shop! All vegan and the staff was willing to make a drink they'd never heard of! Wonderful all around
Went here for lunch and had food and cake. Lovely meal and the cake was a nice treat. They seemed to be very very busy with deliveroo orders whilst I was there.
Really pleased we managed to dive in here one afternoon whilst waiting for a tour. We grabbed an orange hot chocolate and a peanut one along with a slice of lavender and lemon raw cake which were all extremely tasty.
Great food, drinks and service in this vegan café. We liked it so much we came back for tea and cake.
Very nice vegan coffee shop with a good choice of some healthy food and drinks. The stuff is very friendly.
Unusual options and many choices. Great for a quick vegan bite to eat.
