We had the lunch deal which is a starter (spring rolls or rice paper rolls) and a main for £10. Good value and all our choices were delicious. Fresh ingredients, good portion size. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Well worth a visit!
I visited this place two times so far. The first time I decided to get a Banh Mi and the second time I got a salad.
Each time I was deeply impressed by the atmosphere of the cafe, the customer service and the whole experience that I had.
All I can say about the food is that it was fresh, authentic and made with care.
I am glad that this cafe is now opened and I can't wait to go there next time so that I can try their famous Pho.
Well done, Gon Cafe!
Recommended by a Vietnamese friend who said it’s authentic, so I visited with another friend who’s been to Vietnam. We liked everything, fresh food, good portion and friendly staff.
What a great wee find. Really nice chilled cafe atmosphere and staff are a delight. Cafe menu of genuinely delicious Vietnamese food. Everyone seems to come in for the Pho Broth, but we opted for the Bun Cha Gio (pork noodle dish with vermicelli noodles, yummy fried spring rolls, mixed herbs, cucumber, pickled vegetables and traditional Viet dressing. Soy sauce and sweet chilli sauce for extra tang). Delicious, simple and served in super-fast time! It’s BYOB and good value too. Also perfect if you just fancy a latte and a cake. We’ll be back - going going Gon!
We went to try the vegan options in the menu and let me say: everything was amazing! I really missed eating Pho again and their it's delicious! I have a new favourite place in the city 💚
It was great to discover this little place. We tried the "pho" and "bun cha gio" and we loved it. I also tried the authentic Vietnamese coffee. The owners are friendly. It was a pleasure to meet them. We will definitely come back.
Chill atmosphere, great food and tasty coffee. Personally I just love a good pho on a rainy afternoon and god knows we have a plenty of those in Edinburgh!
Love this place!
Very authentic and service is excellent!
Definitely this is my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in this town:)
Love their Pho (noodle soup) so much! It’s simply delicious and gluten-free. I also love the fact that it’s more like a cafe than a restaurant which makes it feel relaxing and no rush to enjoy your food and drink. I also had fresh spring rolls yum yum! (Parking at nearby retail park is possible)
A great addition to the neighbourhood. I had a delicious chicken soup which was perfect for a chilly day, and tasty prawn roll and dip. Freshly made and they we're so lovely and helpful. Thoroughly recommend and can't wait to be back!
