Landed after a tiring bus ride from London and this was the cafe we found at the corner of the bus station. The owners were warm and friendly and given that we were strangers in this town, they helped us find our way to our BnB. Their Scottish breakfast is just about perfect. Would definitely go back there when we are around

Good. Nice place, good selection of sandwiches, fresh homemade soups and salads. They get very busy over lunchtime, but the staff are good humoured and patient! I'm a regular here for lunch and really like the high quality of its food.

Overall, I enjoyed my little stop at The Square. If you're in the neighbourhood and looking for lunchtime fodder, I'd recommend you pop in and order a nice roll from their impressively stocked deli counter. I'll get back to you

Our go-to establishment for a reliable, quick soup and sandwich when in town. Great selection of fillings and fresh bread. A good, varying range of soups too - although I always stick with the lentil and bacon, which is always on and always delish.
Their  soup & sandwich option offers a smaller mug rather than a full bowl which is good and served with a fresh salad
It's a small place, with maybe 5 tables but there is usually one free if you don't mind squeezing in.

Very cute cafe, close to the Edinburgh train station (Waverley)! They had a wide choice in their daily menu as well as specials. Very happy that additional requests for children menu were accepted. We have ordered salmon avocado toast, burger (they had Angus beef in them), steak chops with baked potatoes and mushroom sauce, and brownie for dessert! Would definitely recommend.

Nice place. Good looking and tasty food. We tried the full Scottish breakfast, the avocado toasties and Belgian waffles with hot chocolate. PS: Be aware there's no toilets.

After dismal treatment and shocking prices at a place on Princes St (we left without ordering), we walked for 2 minutes and came across this gem of a place. Cosy atmosphere, food as fresh as anything, homely portions, and friendly, gracious service from the lovely Ukrainian couple running it. Perfect for a snack, lunch or coffee. Many thanks!

The only place in Edinburgh where you can taste authentic Ukrainian food. And it's so delicious, definitely worth a visit

Burgers & Borsch😍 Popped in to the Square on our way to the whiskey tasting experience. We were pleasantly surprised with a cozy interior, but the star of the show was definitely the burgers & borsch combo! We ordered angus beef burgers and freshly cooked borsch (which is based on Ukrainian family recipe). The presentation and taste made it fully worth the money, and made exploring Edi even more enjoyable. Highly recommend😎👍🏼

Lovely people from Ukraine. The only place in Edinburgh that I visited that had ice tea. Excellent tuna melt & ham & cheese melt. Friendly and prompt service. Would visit again but sadly this was our last night in the city.

Brilliant little breakfast and lunch place. Great food, friendly staff and a great and varied selection on the menu. Have returned here several years in a row on trips to Edinburgh, and fits the bill every time. Small eating area, so be early for breakfast or be prepared to wait a little while to be seated (totally worth it). Recommended!

Top cafe experience. Excellent food and service. In any city there is a gluten of starbucks, costa coffee and cafe nero chains. Finding a good non chain cafe is great. It’s close to the Portrait Gallery, Bus Station and St. James Shopping Centre. Good selection and variety of food. Well worth a visit.

Local to our trip accomodation. Absolutely delicious food for breakfast. The cafe was busy when we arrived, but staff found space for us. Would definitely recommend
