Extremely tasty breakfast, well presented, great service and a lovely environment. Couldn’t fault and would return without hesitation. Coffee and chai were great also, particularly the chai. Best we’ve ever had
A very cozy and homely place. Loved the host and the food options.
Must Try! One of the hidden gems of old town for breakfast. The host changes the menu every week
Cosy, authentic cafe in old Town. Friendly service & great food selection. Ideal for a big brunch or a quick snack. It can get busy, so do expect to wait for a table at busy times.
Cosy little cafe in the old town. Prompt and friendly service. I had the scotch pancakes with honey butter. Rich, sweet, fluffy, an absolute delight. Very well priced
Went here for a late Sunday brunch after checking the reviews - Edinburgh Larder didn't disappoint! I ordered the roasted red pepper and basil soup-of-the-day with half a balsamic aubergine and broad bean pate sandwich. The staff were very accommodating making my half sandwich with gluten free bread. My SO ordered the honey leg ham, gherkin and wholegrain mustard sandwich which came with a beautifully dressed side salad. Sandwiches took a little while coming out but were worth the wait.
The entire meal felt wholesome and nutritious, and knowing they source all of their produce locally makes it even better. Proper soul food.
I have been in this cafe twice and I had the best, most delicious traditional Scottish breakfast ever. I can say Everything tastes fresh and is home made. Their fresh organic orange juice plus their home made baked beans and beautifully cooked poached eggs it's just a divine. It's
Really important to note that I love the rustic environment of the cafe which is full of positive vibes. Every time I was there I wanted to say I can't get enough of this place. I highly recommend this cafe for those who has the chance to visit the beautiful Edinburgh
Centrally located and easy to find the small cafe was a delight. It's in the non busy side street which makes it more like a relaxed place to enjoy your breakfast.
The cafe was modestly designed and has a home like feeling. Small space well utilized. If You are lucky you might get the comfort corner in the Edinburgh Larder near the window.
Again the staff was friendly and it felt like home talking to them. (I must admit staff everywhere we went in Edinburgh was friendly shopping malls, restaurants, cafe's, hotel). We ordered sausage roll in brown bread with fresh juice and cappuccino. Our order was simple and had no complex culinary skill's to do, it was as I expected.
Service was quick and it didn't take me long to devour the whole thing.
Price which I feel is the most important thing was right up my street. Inexpensive breakfast + good ambiance = good rating
I do recommend this cafe.
Plus, I'd recommend you to be more adventurous with your breakfast and go for a full Scottish breakkie.
Great changing specials. Love the fact you can choose your side salads. I have nothing bad to say about this place. Well, maybe one. It's sooo hard getting a table! Especially a weekend breakfast or brunch? Don't risk it! Book a table.
The most wanted breakfast place on the planet. Just off The Royal Mile, this is hoarded with tourists waiting to get in.. And every second is worth it. I had the French Toast and baked egg.. It left is wanting for more. The cakes on the shelf looked irresistible. We came back in the evening. But it was closed by then.. If I ever happen to go back there, this is one place I will never miss..
We wanted to eat a full Scottish breakfast so after the search in zomato we fond Larder and Immediately caught our attention.
Larder is in the old town and the place is very simple and not very big. We really like one painting on the wall que marked the places Were the ingredients cam from and the indredients and cakes in display.
For breakfast we choose the full Scottish breakfast and a toast with egg and salmon. It was all perfect, the ingredients Were all natural, the sausages and black pudding was delicious, the egg was perfectly cooked and the salmon very fresh. All went perfectly with the fresh bread. To drink BOTH the latte and the tea were very good.
The staff was always very friendly and the service fast and efective.
I can fully recommend the Larder Cafe, and excellent choice to eat breakfast or the awesome cakes que were there in display and being made in the kitchen.
Delicious breakfast food and coffee! There was a queue forming when we got here just before opening time at 8am, and it’s no wonder. We ordered the Full Scottish Breakfast and the Waffle, as well as a long black and a cappucino. Food and coffee were both excellent. Service was great too!
Edinburgh Larder is a cozy and nice place to have breakfast. If you want a varied and, above all, delicious breakfast, then you've come to the right place.
The staff is super friendly and the food is prepared with care and love.
We had the traditional Scottish breakfast here and it was really fantastic.
Coming here for breakfast and I was really satisfied with the food. We ordered the porridge and waffle and both tasted delicious. It's a must try especially for breakfast. No waiting time when we came here.
The coffee was warm. It'd be good if it's hotter.
The taste if the food and the presentation was perfect! Not the best coffee but still:) the staff was working really hard especially the barista..i could see him running around doin the coffees plus serving cleaning tables! He was doing pretty good job! I tried haggis for the first time in Larder Nd loved it.thank u
Loved the turmeric latte and eggs florentine, their veggie options are great. Definitely arrive either right when they open on a weekday or make a reservation, this small cozy place gets busy fast and it's worth it!
We booked the table for 3 people at 7.30 am. It required £5 deposit for reservation. It is a small lovely cafe. The food was fast and delicious. We also ordered their scone with clotted cream and jam. The scone smells great and the cream is nice. Plus, the staffs there are warmly welcome.
A true hidden gem of a kind. Just next to the busy Royal Mile, this place serves the best of breakfasts. The portion was huge for the Veggie Breakfast with the Veggie Haggis, chestnut mushrooms, spinach, poached egg, potato scone, tomatoes and obviously the granary breads.
The staff were welcoming and professional. Would highly recommend.
Lovely place for breakfast. One of the few vendors open before 9am but worth it with excellent service and food served in cute tin boxes.
We were also given plates with the tins. So no need to eat from the box if not wanted.
They don't accept Amex.
Great coffee with alternative milks available.
A local spot for local dishes using quality ingredients. You can make a reservation to guarantee a table or wait in line for the little larder that is first come first serve. Baby and pet friendly friendly. The food is good nevertheless the presentation in silver trays could be improved for a better experience.
Amazing spot for breakfast just off the Royal Mile. Both the full scottish breakfast and the eggs benedict were delicious! Great drinks choice too.
There are two cafés next to each other - the first is the original and generally needs a reservation whereas the second is for walk-ins. Would definitely recommend a visit!
