After my mother's cremation we went here for the tea and were extremely well looked after. The family, Michelle, Richard and Tom could not do enough for us. The food was very nice and plenty .

We all had a delightful meal here tonight. The choice of menu is first class presentation of the food is top class. The food itself is amazing. I personally would highly recommend others to try this establishment you certainly will not be disappointed. The staff are lovely . It is a relaxed atmosphere. Will certainly be back very soon.

We came here for the refreshments after my Granny's funeral last week. It may sound morbid, but actually it was very pleasant. A waitress took our drinks order and we had the entire conservatory to ourselves, as well as the garden with plenty of picnic benches outside. The refreshments table was piled high with sandwiches, sausage rolls, biscuits and scones, as well as tea and coffee. The staff were all wonderful. It was lovely to being to sit outside, I would highly recommend Northfield House Hotel.

Nice little hotel, location is good, I wasn't venturing into Edinburgh itself so can't comment on the distance to the city centre, but was good for where i was working. Lovely rooms, the sound from down in the bar can travel up the stairs a bit though. Nice food, served until 8pm, breakfast was good also. The owners were lovely, really nice and friendly. I would definitely use the hotel again if I ever travel to Edinburgh again. Recommended.

Having not stayed in the hotel but just experienced the function suite facility. Not being the host, I'm unsure where the responsibility lies, regarding the refreshments. I'm not sure if the hotel catered or not but it was lovely. The room was well lit. Although the large glass windows on such a hot day, it was roasting! Mid afternoon it was possible, when entering the venue, to feel the heat hit you. Like when you get off the aeroplane abroad, the temperate increase. Even with the doors open (not the fire exits) the room with the large glass windows had terrible/serious lack of ventilation. However, it's the weather, there's not a lot of control over the heatwave we seem to be having. It was just a bit frustrating as it was uncomfortable. The only reason that the 1 star was lost for, was the chairs. They were bulky and heavy and were far too big for the layout and other furniture in the room. It was difficult to tuck them under the table's. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The toilet facilities were clean. There seemed to be ample staff and there never was any plates or glasses gathered up at any point. Enjoyed myself given the circumstances. The decor was pretty and well kept. There were lots of fresh flowers and generally had a good atmosphere within the staff on shift.

Thank you so much for today. Turned up for my Mother's wake to find out that there was a miscommunication between Funeral Director and Hotel but you totally stepped up to the plate . You went above and beyond to make sure we were catered for with the help of our friends. Can't thank you enough !!! My family have always used your services and will continue to do so xx

Northfield House dealt efficiently with the funeral wake for my Dad. The food was nice and fresh and the staff quietly dealt with the guests. It was a nice area to sit and reminisce.

Great food. Staff were attentive to the guests. The only problem I found was in the toilets as they were very small.

A lovely, calm, warm and friendly family-run hotel: highly recommended for those who wish to retire from the hullabaloo of the city.
