The Cameo Bar - Edinburgh - Photo album

One of, if not the best cinema-going experience I’ve ever had. Everything from the entrance, to the foyer, to the bar in the back, the place seamlessly oozes class and prioritises atmosphere. The “cinema-decorum” if you will, was top drawer. Everyone within Auditorium 1 was completely respectable th
2nd visit here for the Wes Anderson double feature and absolutely making it a regular occurrence to see movies here despite me living outside of the city. The ambiance is unmatched, the food options are amazing and allergy inclusive & there’s also a bar where you can order drinks to take into the fi
Great local cinema with a good program of popular and art films, with fun older movies regularly shown. Good bar with food, including vegan options, which is very popular with locals. Excellent, friendly staff. Very welcoming for LGBTQI+. The only co structure feedback I have is that the last time I
The cafe serves a great Coffee and cake combo. In the pic I had carrot and pistachio cake which was well worth it and an oat latte. The staff are very accommodating and friendly. Love the old decor and a great place for film or just a cafe visit
With the demise of the Edinburgh Filmhouse, this is one of the very few places left where you'll catch non-mainstream and independent films. (You can also see the mainstream films here, too.) Screen 1 is the large amphitheatre, capable of seating several hundred people, I estimate, and there are two
Lovely cinema with a good selection of non-blockbusters movies. Seats aren't the most comfy but it's an old theater! The price does tend to make you chose carefully the movie you want to see, it's a bit pricey.
Great little cafe bar, with some nice wines and top coffee. Relax before or after a movie - many of which you can't see anywhere else. The main screen remains one of the most atmospheric and special cinema auditoriums in the world.
Great, helpful staff. Cinema hall itself looks very worn-out. Seats are very comfortable, but the view is easily obstructed by the row in front. Edge seats suffer from being too close to the AC. The sound quality could be improved.
An independent cinema in the heart of the city which we should cherish. The Cameo is great and with more financial support it could be great. If you hurry past it may look small, perhaps art house or perhaps even seedy (that's what teenage me thought a life time ago) BUT it's lovely, splendid and c
Our family visited the kids screening today and our daughter thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were all really friendly and the screening itself is a great idea to introduce mini people to the cinema!
There is not so many cinemas like this in Edinburgh left after Filmhouse collapsed. Yes, they are part of Picturehouse group, but Cameo is still able to keep their feeling of an independent cinema. They have a good ambiance and a reasonable cheap cinema tickets. There are film festivals, there are
Loved this little cinema, an unexpected joy on our vacation. All the movies they were playing looked great and I loved how intimate it was. The popcorn smell was also much less than normal which I appreciate.
It's been many many years since I last visited. Lovely cinema special viewing of Jason and the Argonauts took me back to 12 years old. Very nice bar also.
Lovely small cinema with a QUIET audience who preferred to hear the film rather than drown it out with crisps and sweet wrappers. A very nice bar area.
Invited to a preview screening of 'Aftersun'. The seats are comfortable but the building is in need of repair. Ladies toilet is down a flight of stairs. Good location for city centre.
Lovely little cinema full of character and charm just like a trip to your (probably now closed) local independent cinema. Was recommended a visit online whilst looking for things to do on holiday in Edinburgh. Screen and sound have had a modernisation so don’t expect a crappy presentation (this is p
Went to attend the Harryhausen Awards on the 29th and it was amazing, prices of drinks and snacks was decent, screen size was great and the bar had a wide range of drinks. The staff were also really lovely.
