Lovely place , scones, thick toast, chocolate brownies to die for . Everytime we are up in Edinburgh we call in .
Wonderful friendly service here together with really scrumptious food. Also loved the tasteful music playing in the background!
First time visit, meeting friends. Lovely hot chocolate & lemon drizzle. Milk came in cute little milk bottles.
Also loved looking at the old pictures of the staff and print presses of the Scotsman. Great piece of history.
Will definitely be back when I next visit Edinburgh.

Great coffee shop! I came here with my mother and we both loved it. I'll definitely be back!
Bit of a wait for the coffee but it was excellent when it arrived so not complaining. Scrummy cakes.
Great food, coffee and brilliant service.
Great place , sadly opens at 10pm . Nice atmosphere to sit work and have a chat.
Offer 10%student discount too.
I tried the iced latte (£3.10) and the chocolate twist (£2.30), would recommend both. Unsure why the regular lattes at this place are priced at 4 pounds compared to the iced.
Nevetheless would recommend.
Absolutely loved it here! The coffee and cakes were fantastic, could not recommend more, perfect little coffee stop during the fringe.
I had a chai latte and a slice of mocha tart. The latte was lovely, but the mocha tart was the stand out, I’m still thinking about it a month later! My friend had an espresso and croissant which she enjoyed.
I paid £13 for the coffee and tart, a little bit on the pricey side, but very enjoyable.
If you like caffeine and have a sweet tooth, I’d defiantly recommend stopping by!

Lovely food and drinks here. We revisited several times. The staff were friendly and down to earth. Vegan and gluten free catered for, which is sometimes hard to find (particularly gluten free). The building is lovely and decorated tastefully, the previous history of it being the printing place of The Scotsman is celebrated well.
We were walking down Cockburn street trying desperately to find a cafe that wasn't completely crowded when we found this one, almost totally empty! The staff was lovely, really made me feel comfortable despise my anxiety, and the hot chocolate is to die for!! Really quiet and warm atmosphere, great for a nice calm breakfast! And the view from their window tables is absolutely amazing
100% recommend going there!!
I found refuge in this lovely place when it started pouring while I was visiting Cockburn street. The place is so welcoming, warm and well decorated interior with soft lights, jazz music, nice view over the beautiful cobbled street… I only had a pot of tea so I could not judge the food quality but they seem to have a large choice of toasties, sandwiches and pastries. A nice place to relax in the middle of a busy day visiting Edinburgh.
Friendly staff. Good biscuits and carrot cake.
Great service and good coffee, they even gave us cutlery for our pain au chocolate. Also price wise better value than other coffee shops nearby. I also like that there is plenty of space and it’s not over crowded.
Husband and I went in looking for tea/coffee and a sandwich. Outstanding in everything. Girl at counter was very welcoming, as were all the staff. We loved this place will definitely be back. Thanks
Excellent coffee and toilets! Great service too.
We walked through the city first place we found open staff was extremely nice and we waited a few extra minutes and they dropped off a small cookie covered with caramel and chocolate. Nice relaxing way for are first breakfast.
Stumbled upon this little cafe today on our way around the city. Very centrally located to the Royal Mile and has absolutely wonderful confectionery goods to offer! Fantastic service at the counter and wonderful hospitality given by the staff. We just got dessert, but the drinks and other food looked wonderful when it was brought to other tables. Warm and inviting atmosphere, and we really loved the retro vibe. Definitely a must stop when in Edinburgh. And if you’re lucky enough to swing by near closing time, you might even be able to score some free cupcakes to take on your way out!
Great latte and staff were very welcoming. Nice calm ambience right in the centre of the hustle and bustle.
Lovely open plan café with delicious sandwiches ( pesto chicken ….) and great coffee , had a real buzz to it on the Saturday morning we visited with so many nationalities enjoying their coffee.
