The tasting menu was fabulous! My fiancé had such an amazing time…honestly one of the best dining experiences I’ve had. The gentleman helping us, I think Andreas, was on top of everything and made the experience even better! Russ was also great and both made wonderful wine recommendations. Honestly,
It was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The food was really tasty and beautifully concocted, and the wines complemented it very well. Our waiter was attentive and fun, and the whole meal created warm memories that we'll enjoy for a very long time.
A great way to experience this restaurant without spending too much is to have the lobster lunch. Exceptionally tasty food, served by knowledgeable staff in great surroundings. Lovely views across Edinburgh, spacious restaurant, and such interesting flavours. No choice but I trust the experts. Extra
A wonderful tasting menu and easy to say 5 stars. The menu did not seem to be choregraphed to bring out the chef's culinary style though. It was more like showcasing every good ingredient from land and sea. Every dish was competing to one another, still it was an interesting approach.
Amazing food, well presented and tasted delicious. Great service, the host went above and beyond. Nothing to fault at all. Will definitely be back.
Food was lovely and there was a great variation to the dishes. The beef dish was excellently done and was a favourite on the table. Service really was outstanding and the attention to detail was what you would expect from a restaurant in a five star hotel. We didn’t have the matching wines but the
Was a bit weary given all the ‘hype’ around Chef Dean appearing on Masterchef.. is it REALLY that good?? Went in for dinner on a Fri night 730pm.. walked out 1030pm with a full stomach, happy heart and pleasant surprise 7 courses did not disappoint.. service was on the money. Vibes were gentle and
Wow!!!!! I am 57 years old and have eaten at Michelin starred restaurants around the world, but I have never enjoyed a tasting menu and wine pairing as much as I did at Dean Bank's. The vegan menu is a triumph of texture and flavour and the presentation is nothing less than grand art! I was lucky
Perfect for date night. The food was amazing, delicious and full of flavor. Service was impeccable. Very happy with the amazing service of our server she was very kind. Will be coming back
Fantastic welcome this evening at Dean Banks at the Pompadour, The Waldorf, Edinburgh. Maitre D’ so friendly and extremely professional. The food was beautiful, tasty and a treat to the senses. Highly recommend this restaurant for a special treat/ occasion. We will definitely be back here!
We were in a group of friends celebrating my husband’s birthday, and was an amazing experience from the entrance up to the end. My husband is a vegetarian and had a veggie/vegan menu, I had some food restrictions and they gave the flexibility of mixing the veggie and regular menu, fitting your taste
Grandeur experience in the splendid surroundings of 'The Caley'. Dean Banks and the team are producing fresh, lively and favourable dishes throughout the tasting menu. Appears to showcase the best of Scottish ingredients with occasional twists. Staff excellent throughout. Friendly, youthful and ho
We booked Dean Banks at the Pompadour based on online reviews and his reputation. The food was absolutely delicious, complimented by the paired wines. What set this restaurant apart from other fine dining experiences we have had in Edinburgh was the outstanding service from the restaurant manager A
Faultless, attentitive and friendly service by Andreas, Cameron and a lady whose name we didn't catch. The food was very enjoyable, as was the atmosphere. Would definitely recommend for a special occasion!
Having visited the Pompadour before it closed I was so excited to return and try it out with new ownership. It turned out to be just as, if not more amazing!! The food is incredible and lots of little tiwsts during the menu, they also cater to gluten free very well. I would highly recommend getting
We were made to feel most welcome the minute we stepped into The Pompadour. I had made an error with the booking time, however restaurant manager Andrea smoothed everything out and took away any stress I was feeling due to this. We had a table with an incredible view which was an added bonus. The fo
Food was fantastic. We had the Chef's tasting menu paired with wine and it won't be long until its gets the first star as it was top notch. My only slight criticism was there was no option to change out the main course for anything else. Both of us prefer not to eat sheep and there was no alternativ
5/5. Excellent food, excellent service. All the food was gorgeously presented and backed up by tasting as good as it looked. Topped off with a few bits of flair (dry ice haar with the oysters was impressive). The signature smoked lobster is the best lobster I have ever tasted and I would thoroughly
My first visit. The dining experience was most enjoyable. The tasting menu was delicious and creative. The staff was attentive and friendly. Truly an exceptional restaurant.
