Love Down The Hatch! Great food every time. Been as a family, and as a couple, and each time it's been brilliant. Highly recommend going on an empty stomach, and sharing a portion of their dirty fries along side your main. Great soft, and alcohol drink selection too!

Absolutely fantastic Canadian restaurant at the top of Leith Walk in Edinburgh. If you have a dog this is the PERFECT restaurant for you. Unlike many restaurants in Edinburgh, they allow dogs… but to say they “allow” is an understatement. They LOVE dogs and welcome them with open arms! The menu is full of deliciously naughty Canadian treats including burgers, wings, dirty fries, and poutine, and even a few salads for those trying to be healthy. For those with a dog, they have — I’m not kidding — a dog menu! I think the dog food is as good as many restaurants serve to humans and can still be eaten by humans if you wish. A bowl of shredded chicken is almost too good for a pooch! Highly recommend this spot for groups too. You’re guaranteed a good time. Shout out to the head chef and all the staff for making our visit so memorable, and for giving our dog Hugo a memorable evening!

Casual and relaxed ambiance. Knowledgeable staff when suggesting and describing food. The food was amazing. The milkshake with liquor was saccharine... I love it.

Great vegetarian options, and huge portions. Love the vibe and very affordable given the quantity and quality of the food. Beers are a bit on the pricey side but this is expected for local breweries like Pilot. I would love to see more vegetarian "sides" on the menu! Cauliflower wings for example 😋

The only place to go in Edinburgh for authentic poutine and Canadian favourites. Try the boozy shakes unless you're a child, in which case, try something off the kid's menu. A relaxed dining experience, funky interiors in a cavernous place, located close to the Omni and Picardy tram stop.

AMAZING food. The frozen margarita was straight tequila and it was delicious. Got the speciality wings and the Mexican loaded fries.

Great place for upmarket burgers and fries. I got double cheeseburger & fries with a draught pint and paid £20. Location looks small but they have a large area around the back so plenty of seats Only issue was the special in the picture looked so different from what was served as in portion size. Thankfully my friend ordered haggis as well as the special otherwise he'd have left hungry from a little bowl of food marked as 'the special' looking at pictures of it on the menu is deciving. Good service from the waiters

The food and prices were a pleasant surprise, especially with some special deals during the week. The loaded fries were nice, but our favourite were the Korean BBQ wings that had a perfect balance of sweetness. The coleslaw was our least favourite. It was non conventional, made with some tarragon (go for it if that's something you might like, but beware it's not a typical coleslaw side).
