Best place for sushi in Edmonton hands down! Perfectly cooked and seasoned sushi rice, freshest quality fish you’ll get in the city, the toro (and salmon belly too) is buttery and mouth watering. We always get the beef tataki, nigiri, and a few rolls: shrimp tempura roll, avocado shiitake roll, small California, and negitoro. Everything is delicious. We do takeout often but love that they’re back open for dine in!

The menu seems more simple and traditional than the usual Japanese restaurants in the city. Service is great; their kitchen is small and the chefs seem to be careful so it's not rushed. It is a very small restaurant (maybe 5 tables), so reservations are highly recommended.

One of the favorite Japanese restaurants in town. It's a busy place . Their rice is perfect cooked and flavored. The sashimi is very fresh and great size.

My families always recommended Sushi Wasabi to me, so I ordered a lot sushi from them for Christmas Eve, however my partner and I were extremely disappointed. The fish were not fresh and had becoming very watery, especially the Hamachi and Salmon, Salmon tasted like worst than All you can eat quality.
*Update* came back to try again on July 21, 2022. Ordered a Chirashi don, portion was bad, lots of rice, only came with a few pieces of fish, not even tasted good, not worth $30.

Got supper for my fiance here. She absolutely loved it! Said it was among the best sushi she had ever ate (in Canada). Will definitely be going back.

Update 2018: This is still some of the best sushi in Edmonton if you know what to order, but it's rolls are not great and the sushi is unfortunately inconsistent. The green tea, tuna, and unagi we're excellent, the scallop was good, but the salmon and hamachi were disappointing. The tuna was so tender and delicate, I ordered another piece. The salmon and hamachi both had a very firm "snappy" texture to them that I didn't like; I have always preferred the soft buttery salmon and tender savoury hamachi. I even tried the salmon Toro but it was not better. I also tried another roll, this time dynamite, but I didn't enjoy it. Again, the roll had too much mayonnaise (I've never had a dynamite roll with mayonnaise before) and it was so big I could barely fit one piece in my mouth (see picture with two tempura shrimp in the roll). It also took 30-40 minutes to get my order even though I was alone, but it was the end of the night (7:40) so maybe they were slowing down prep staff and starting to clean. I still think this place may be overrated, but maybe their non-sushi menu is more consistent.
2016: This is the best sushi I have had in Edmonton, but that is not really a compliment. Sashimi and Nigiri were OK but the couple of rolls they recommended were poor. The Scallop roll in particular was mostly mayonnaise. The other rolls were mostly rice (see photo). I feel overall the hype and price are overdone.

The sashimi is fresh, sushi is tasty and the rolls are put together well! I especially love the rice they use, it's a perfect combo in a roll or with a nice slice of fish on top. Service is quick and very friendly. Highly recommend reservations as it's tough to get a table during the evening.
