We had a wonderful brunch! The food was absolutely fabulous and the service excellent. And the bonus was we got to see Santa🎅. Thank you so much for a day that will be a fond memory for years to come!

This has become my favorite restaurant in SW VA. This is the very best restaurant anywhere in SW VA. We've eaten numerous dishes, but their chef varies the menu. The chef's creations (they have a real chef unlike all of the other swva restaurants that call their frozen foods cooks "chefs") are inspired & delicious. Their pastries are so delicate & deliciously fresh. Everything there is truly completely homemade. I've had the local trout many times (several different ways), as well as elk, steaks, & pizza. The most recent dessert that I had was an apple tort that was exquisite. The lady who owns this restaurant obviously truly cares that her customers have a wonderful visit, & all of their staff is not only refined, but genuinely personable, & professional. Note that you'll want to make a reservation, as you can otherwise find yourself in a long wait. They're a bit of a drive from Roanoke or Christiansburg, but completely with it, as well as worth the wait, if you don't have a reservation. There has also been once or twice when the food was a wait, but we didn't have a reservation, & bear in mind that their food is truly chef made to order. Their wine & drink list is always perfect. We don't go there to eat. We go there for whole experience, including a scenic drive when we take the long route. Five stars. The very best of the best.

The Palisades is definitely our local favorite with amazing seasonal dishes, as well as chef's choices. We never get bored! Fantastic service and food that is divine. Not to mention, I'm always finding a new local cider or beer I can't live without.
Dean is a FANTASTIC server, if you can get him, do it.
A +++++ for the Palisades and all of their staff.

The Palisades is quaint, small restaurant with an excellent menu. They serve familiar southern entrees in new and interesting ways.
The pork chop is cooked to perfection every time we've ordered it, they have wonderful stone ground grits, and the chef's choices are always intriguing. Definitely stick around dessert too!
The wait staff is friendly, helpful, and doesn't hover too much, and the owner always makes time to visit our table once every meal.
Highly recommend for anyone in the area or just passing through.

By far the BEST restaurant in the NRV area.
If you get car sick, maybe sit in the front seat on the drive over. It’s a little bit of a drive but, completely worth it.
They have a small bar with a good beer and wine selection. Wonderful house made sangria.
I recently went with a large party for my birthday and we tried every single appetizer.
From the local cheeses, bacon jam, spicy crab dip, homemade honey butter for the hushpuppies- we were so impressed with every bite! The lavender salad dressing is a must try. They always have a delicious fish option, wonderful rack of lamb and my favorite- the ribeye with homemade chipotle butter. Make a reservation!
