Thank you for a fabulous evening for our Barnard Castle and Teesdale Riding Club Christmas party. The food was wonderful, the room was so Christmassy and the atmosphere great. We look forward to organising another party for the club in summer

Excellent family friendly hostelry. Everyone is made so welcome and the food is second to none. Cyclists are well catered for as are ramblers and its only 800 yards from the Teesdale Way in Eggleston (turn left at the play park and its at the top of the hill).

THE BEST SUNDAY LUNCH EVER! , lovely clean pub with great friendly staff, great views, chocolate brownie for dessert was amazing too. Made all the better by knowing it's from their own farm, I love to support businesses like this!

Really nice pub. Excellent Sunday roast, decent beers, friendly staff and great view out the window. Add an attached farm shop and glamping pods and they have something special. Please support, we need to keep pubs like this!

Took our family visitors here for an early evening meal and it was just excellent. The surroundings and ambience was very comfortable and relaxing and the food couldn't be faulted with a good and varied selection to suit every taste...all of which was well cooked and presented in huge portions. We opted for the Steak Pie which was lush while our nephew chose a steak cooked to perfection. Pricewise, for the quality and quantity, it was more than reasonable. We came away very satisfied and will certainly be returning. If you've not visited the Moorcock you're missing a real treat. Highly recommended.

Really good Sunday lunch - 3 courses for £17! We arrived without a booking and were lucky enough to get a table. Going by the number of locals having lunch and the steady stream of people arriving till quite late (3 o'clock) we were lucky indeed. The food was a proper Sunday roast and we enjoyed every bite. Friendly staff, good atmosphere, dog friendly section, superb views over the Moors - what's not to like?

Beautiful Sunday lunch, called on on the off chance after a weekend camping nearby. They seated us immediately, and food was served within 10 mins. Local beef was amazing! Good size portions too. Definitely call again if I'm ever passing.
