The landlord is an old friend of mine and I hadn’t seen him for many years. The Sunday roast was up there with the best I’ve ever had. All perfectly cooked. The staff all very welcoming and a charming country pub feel. The customers all very friendly too and lots of laughter. What a pub should be like. Highly recommend this place!

Had Sunday lunch here last week. YUM! Al is a friend of mine but he is also an excellent chef. The food was sublime, atmosphere warm and friendly. Heartily recommended.

We stayed in the Pub for two nights with our dog.
The whole team where very friendly and accommodating.
There is a really nice local atmosphere in the pub.
The food, we had breakfasts and an evening meal which both where Well cooked, high quality, well presented, delicious meals.
The room we stayed in was huge, clean and well equipped.
It can be tricky to find good quality dog freindly placed to stay so we would highly recommend the Rose & Crown to anybody.
The location is also very good for seeing Kent. We got the bus from just outside to south coast and or Canterbury to allow for day drinking 😀
Great lunch. The pub has a refreshed feel, we were greeted on arrival and had a delicious lunch. A good menu choice and the food arrived hot and well presented. Would definitely recommend and hope that this lovely old pub thrives under its new management.
We were so happy to see this pub reopen. The new owners are very professional and very friendly. We stayed in one of the rooms, a very large room and well appointed. Our dinner and breakfast were both delicious.

We stayed for two nights over the weekend - not only were we greeted with such friendly staff/ower/manager, the vibe of the pub is so homely, beautiful, relaxing with great atmosphere. The room was such a lovely size and breakfast was incredible! Tasty and fresh. Martin should be incredibly proud of what he and his team have achieved in the short time they have been at the Rose & Crown. Genuinely such an accommodating and lovely place with even lovelier people. We want to thank you all (including Traveller the border terrier) for such a wonderful stay! We'll be back. (Love the tyrants from room 6).
Ooh, it were lovely. Family owned. Very welcoming. Seasonal menu. Fresh chips. Had a fried egg on the side. They can fry one properly, rarer skill than you'd think.
Had a great light lunch today from the starter menu. New owner and staff extremely friendly and helpful.

Just went to the opening of the restaurant today. Excellent meal, really well cooked and presented. Good value for money. The roast dinners we had (chicken and pork) were really good. Each coming with its own set of vegetables matched to the meat. The vegetables were beautifully cooked just the right texture. The gravies were so tasty, loved the pork stuffing with herbs too.
The desserts were amazing. I had the Chocolate and Amaretto Mousse - with mascarpone cream and toasted almonds so good! My wife had the Cappuccino Panna Cotta - she said it was the best panna cotta she has had! Considering it was their first day the service was good.

Recently taken over olde-world pub with converted stables for accommodation. Robbie and Martin were very helpful and explained their plans to take forward the pub, starting with a new kitchen, currently being installed. All the best, chaps! 👍
Very nice hotel . The owners are very obliging. We love our stay in this hotel very much. The meals ( breakfast and dinner) are rich and delicious.
Had a lovely meal and staff were very friendly. Will be back.
