We were there for a birthday party. Food was amazing. Meat was tender. Curry was rich in flavour and taste. Service was spectacular and attention to detail - beyond measure. One of the best Indian restaurant in Aberdeen.

It may look like your average neighborhood restaurants, but Ambals Indian restaurant is different. I wandered in with two friends on last Friday night, and was immediately greeted by the friendly staff and incredible aroma of lots of Indian dishes and spices. The restaurant was filling up quickly, but we managed to snag a table. This place is perfect for groups or a casual date night. Had a great experience.

We tried the Ambal's for the first time last night and the food was great, freshly cooked very tasty and well presented. The waiters were attentive and service overall was good. The restaurant looked to have been recently decorated. Overall a good meal and great value we will certainly be going back.

Excellent service staff very attentive without being intrusive. The meal itself was amazing. We had to wait a while for it to arrive but it did say on the menu that the specials could take 30 minutes to arrive. I am not sure how long it took but it did not feel like it took that long. We hadn't ordered starters only popadoms but a few minutes after we had ordered the waitress arrived with a small complimentary taster starter to keep us going till our mains came. It was beautiful and a good indication of what was to come. It definitely did not disappoint first of all it was a natural colour not that fluorescent pink and yellow that we have come to expect from a lot of Indian restaurants. The texture of the sauce spot on and very fragerant and spicy without being so hot you cannot taste it properly and the meat just fell apart. The rice was also fragrant, nice and dry the naan was obviously home made and a perfect texture. We definitely would recommend a visit we will back.

My recent visit to Europe included a stop in and around Aberdeen, to my surprise came to know about this restaurant from a mutual friend and made reservations for dinner. I was surprised a lot to taste our authentic south indian dishes over there and all food were both tasty and yummy. Highly recommending for indian cuisine lovers.!!

Food was absolutely delicious and Home style food with reasonable price! Brought my family here to try some authentic Indian food. We ordered Fish Fry, butter chicken, chicken Tikka masala and garlic naan bread. Service was quick and the atmosphere was enjoyable. Great taste consistent quality. It's a must go.

Great service, given testers of items off the menu that we hadn't ordered. Service prompt and friendly but not intrusive. All the dishes explained and food hot and fresh. Second visit and definitely not the last. Well done guys.

Genuinely one of the best restaurants I've been to. I visited last year, happened across the photo again and had to leave a a review. I had biriyani and a peshwari naan with a selection of dipping sauces and it was all just perfection. The flavours were fantastic, the dishes hot when they arrived and everything was beautifully cooked. The waiter at the time I think was one of the owners / family members and was happy to chat with us about the restaurant and the origins of the dishes. Next time I'm in Aberdeen I'll be back!!!

Absolutely fantastic food, I had chicken pakora, then the waitress gave me a sample starter of chicken kebab which was nice.. Main course of chicken vindaloo was very tasty not just spicy and side of Bombay potatoes were gorgeous.. Waitress was superb and very helpful. If you’re in Aberdeen you must try it!!!!

Very nice curry, generous portion size, great service, recommend the Lamb shank but don't eat the dried chilli, good for small to medium size group (8), haven't tried a large group. a large area for coats with good visibility from most seats. toilets clean.

Fantastic food and great service. We arrived after ten o'clock to an empty restaurant but they were very accommodating and happy to serve us for as long as we wanted. The dishes were delicious and the presentation was lovely.

Absolute favourite Indian restaurant in Aberdeen. Great selection of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes and very friendly, welcoming staff. We keep coming back for the food as well as the excellent service.

Wow just wow ! Me and my colleague went here after a hard days work and just found it in passing. The food was phenomanal !!! 10 stars. As a restaurant manager for years I am very fussy when I eat out and I normally nit pick trying to find anything wrong with the food no matter how small. I failed at this restaurant the only fault was there was just to much for me to finish. I had the seafood noodles which were seasoned perfectly with no shortage of squid prawns and sea bass and my friend had king prawn tikka. Both of us were very very impressed. I couldn't recommend this place enough. Some of the best food I have ever eaten anywhere and of any style.
