We visited about 4pm on a Friday for an early dinner, was very quiet when we arrived so we were seated and serve right away.
I had the cheesey fries and paella and my other half had the jalapeño poppers and hake & seafood enchilada. Both were hot and delicious.
Looked at the cocktails but decided against them as they were a bit expensive.
Would recommend, friendly staff and good food!
I wouldn't call this authentic Mexican food. But for a British tex-mex, it's not bad! We got the cheesy enchiladas and the veggie mushroom fajitas. I'm not even vegetarian, but I would get the veg fajitas again, the mushroom was seasoned so well and to die for!
Good range of dishes catering for different dietary requirements. Generous portions and reasonably priced too. Service excellent - A nice, relaxed atmosphere - good to visit with family and friends.
Just got back from El Guaca Ely. Fairly busy Friday evening booked table for two at 8pm. Straight from the off greeted by a lovely member of staff with a big smile (makes the world of difference as a first impression) and seated straight away. Drinks order taken within a couple of minutes and arrived very quickly. Starters and main orders taken quickly again by very polite and happy staff. Starters on our table within 10 minutes of us sitting down. Once we were done table cleared quickly and mains with us shortly after. Also asked by attentive staff on numerous occasion if our meals were good and if we needed extra drinks etc. All food delicious, well cooked and hot. Fantastic experience, well done to all staff and management at Ely El Guaca you are doing top drawer job all round. Will definitely be back soon.
Both my husband and I love it here(Ely). Amazing food, exceptional service, wonderful vibe, absolutely loving the cocktail menu😊. This has become our new favourite date night restaurant. Seriously cannot fault it and I am an extremely picky/fussy, pain in the a**** Customer. I scrutinise every visit to a restaurant, from food, to cleanliness, service, literally everything(yes I'm one of those annoying people), I just have high expectations and this place ticks every single box, it's so refreshing. My only suggestion would be to maybe at some point have a dinner and dance sort of event or dress up event, a Mexican themed event, would be amazing. Absolutely love the place !!!
My partner and I went to El Guaco for a spontaneous Tuesday night meal out. It was fairly quiet so we were seated quickly. We decided to get a few dishes to share so we could sample some of what this newer restaurant has to offer. We got Jalapeno Poppers, Southwest Spring Rolls, Pork Pibil Chimichanga and a Mex Burger. All in all the food was flavourful and cooked well but nothing particularly special. The chips were a particular highlight though, they were excellent. I would say the main thing that let it down was that I was expecting the spring rolls and Chimichanga to be crispy on the outside but they were a bit soggy. We had churros and a churros sundae for dessert and both were really good. I would go again and try some of the other dishes available
Food was tasty. Friendly Service
The mocktail we had was so refreshing.
Atmosphere was really nice. Very loud but there was alot of groups! Would definitely go back.
We love it here. We're vegan but usually go with family members who aren't. The vegan menu is excellent and I'm working my way through it. However, the last couple of times I've been I've had the same dish - the Vegan Burrito which is delicious and a decent sized portion.
Everyone in our party is well catered for and the service is always great.
Looking forward to our next visit.
Just what Ely needed! Every dish I've had so far has been exceptional, and the staff are really lovely, friendly, and super efficient. We can't wait to go back! They have a wide range of gluten free and Vegan options too.

El Guaca is located in Ely leisure village. It benefits from a large free car park that has several disabled parking bays. The surface is good as is the footpath that leads to the wheelchair friendly entrance.
The restaurant is nicely set out and you are not all squeezed together.
The food was of a good quality and served hot without having to wait too long. The staff were friendly and happy help. The toilets were impeccably clean and there was disabled toilet facilities.
If you are an EV driver there is also a pair of chargers located near the hive swimming pool. These are a 5 minutes walk away and if you use them please take note of the access times as they are in an area of the car park that is locked in the evening.
