This was my main sushi place for two years. Loved their food. Gave them a lot of business. One evening me and my friends takeout order took a long time, not the usual 20 min wait, we waited for about an hour and when we got our food they gave us a 20% off coupon for next time. This isn't a big deal, things happen, ya get busy. All good.
But the reason I never returned is that I got awful food poisoning ten mins after I ate the sushi. Cold sweats, chills, vomiting. I felt very betrayed by my favorite sushi place. I can only assume something happened during that hour wait for our food? No idea. Anyway, id be giving 5 stars if it weren't for this. Haven't been back since.

The people are nice there, but our food was disgusting. We ordered hibachi. The scallops were very overcooked and my daughter took her chicken home to cook it more the next day because she couldn't eat it the way it was - it was pink. The vegetables were undercooked as well.
For the amount of money they charge, the food should be cooked properly. We won't be back.

If I could give this restaurant no stars I would. Horrible meal! I don't mind spending money if the food is good but I hate spending money when the food sucks. Salad dressing was horrible. Soup was salty. Too much food cooked at one time and the chicken was left on the grill too long and was rubbery and chewy. Too much seasoning and soy sauce used. EVERYTHING was very salty! Our son left most of his food on the plate. He couldn't eat it. His wife's steak wasn't cooked all the way. They told the manager and he took $10 off. My husband ordered shrimp and scallops. He got 3 scallops and 4 shrimp for $26! We used to go there when they first opened but haven't been there in some time. Definitely not the way it used to be. Will NEVER go there again.

RESPONSE to very rude owner!: we are not trying to extort anything from your disgusting restaurant! We are beyond insulted. Actually we were being EXTREMELY HONEST. That’s your response to our review!? You didn’t even acknowledge the other issues we had. Instead of focusing on your rude responses how about focusing on cleaning up your filthy restaurant? Did you even read the other reviews about your restaurant? It’s amazing your still in business. Since you decided to respond in such a terrible way we now will be contacting the health department like we wanted to do originally. Good luck.
Don't ignore the bad reviews like we did. Wish I could get back the time and money I wasted at this joint.
Felt like spending our date night at a hibachi grill that was local. We read the bad reviews but still decided to give them a chance. Bad decision, continue reading.
1. Why would you seat us with 2 other families with screaming children at the same grill? We didn't even want to see a child on our date night let alone hear them (no offense). We saw other staff and it wasn't busy for a Friday night so why couldn't we have a grill to ourselves?
2. Your alcoholic beverages taste funky. Metallic taste. Old juice used. Hardly any alcohol used. Total rip off.
3. Why is there trash in your windows and on the floor? Why are the tables and bars covered in a film like they've never been washed?
4. Why does the soup taste like salty stale mushrooms. Why is the salad not seaweed salad but instead a weird iceberg style with the weirdest colored dressing I've ever seen? Couldn't even work up the nerve to try it.
5. Why do the lomein noodles taste like the way fish food smells? Why are thy watery? The rice was decent and the only food I actually could eat a second bite of.
6. Why is the chicken and beef so dry and over cooked? One bite of each and I was done.
7. Why did the hibachi chef show us a severe burn on his forearm that looked infected and was not covered in anyway? What if it drips puss onto food? Yes, it looked that bad.
8. Why were all the dishes not 100% clean? Film or left over food stuck on glasses, plates, utensils, etc.
9. Why did my date see pubic hairs in the sink of one of your restrooms? Do you even clean the bathrooms?
10. Why did I have to put a finger down my throat when I got home so I wouldn't have the suffer the consequences of your nasty establishment during digestion?
Like I stated previously, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. Trust the negative reviews.

Very disappointed.... took my little sister out to eat my shrimp was rancid tasting. The chicken was not cooked improperly. Too much garlic in the rice. Watered down drinks. Overall worst meal I've had at Oyama. Definitely will not be coming back I assume the guy up front is the owner and when he came to check on our table and I tried to let him know our concerns and it was brushed off ended up paying for the meal because I did eat the rice and noodles that will be my last time visiting this establishment not worth the money paid for. Worst example of Japanese Hibachi

The sushi here is amazing. Definitely some of the freshest sushi around. My fiancé and I often go at lunch time and we have great service and Are always seated right away. As a tip you can order hibachi meals even if you are sitting down on the restaurant side. It is often much quicker and the food tastes just as good!

I was pleasantly surprised by Oyama Enfield. This was my first visit and only my third hibachi experience (have been to Ginza and Sakura in the past two years) and we arrived for a 6pm reservation. We were the first and only customers when we arrived, and that made us a bit skeptical. Our party of 6 was seated at our hibachi table and our drink order was taken. Beers were ice cold and cocktails were good. We ordered appetizers (gyoza beef dumplings and crispy orange sesame chicken) to share and both were very good. Miso was good, salad was cold and crisp. (Two of the six salads came without dressing, but that was fixed right away by our server.) Our hibachi chef arrived and was very good...not as personable as our last chef at another restaurant, but very proficient. Steaks looked beautiful and fresh. Chicken and shrimp were both excellent as well. Portions were bigger than both of our past hibachi meals and everything was as good if not better. All six of us felt we got a delicious meal at a fair price, and would all return in the future. Glad we stayed close to home and gave Oyama a try. We'll be back!
(*It would be nice to have a cloth napkin for hibachi instead of paper...especially if you like the sake...just a recommendation.)

This was our go to for special occasions like birthdays but unfortunately this was our last trip here. The food was generic at best for the price and portions were small. I paid for the atmosphere but got rushed out for the next party before being done. Then they say the gratuity is included already. If I had a option I would not have tipped that much. Try another place
