We had our Running groups Christmas meal at the Star. Cannot fault the pub, the staff or the food!!! All excellent and I have to say the food was definitely on a par with that sold at much bigger pubs at a fraction of the price. Huge thanks to Zoe for such excellent service and Janice for giving us a meeting point every Tuesday xxxxx
Amanda Gill and I visited today the once home of the Pogmore's for over a 100 years, Amanda Pogmore, grand daughter of the last Pogmore to live at the Star has come home for a drink and something to eat lol 😁 the food and drink was very nice, served by friendly staff, and eaten in the surroundings of a very impressive beer garden 👍👍👍
This is a lovely little pub for a relaxed drink and some food. The entrance doesn't look very inviting but inside, it's warm and cosy with a nice atmosphere. I'd be wary of ordering the seabass though. We went a few days into their new menu launch and it was awful, flavourless and without half of the ingredients advertised in the menu.
Amazing!! Especially the new sizzler menu, perfect with a pint in the beer garden! Jo and Kev really have created a great environment for family days or a night out!!!
great managers made to feel so welcome staff are great and food is so good not just your standard pub food actually made with care.
Had a great day here. They have double vodka and redbull for 5.50 at the minute. Felt really welcome.

Lovely place for family and dogs. Did feel sorry for the young gentleman who was left on his own but he did a brill job. Will definitely be back x

Recently tried some food off their new menu and it is excellent! Vegetarian options were surprisingly tasty, and the surf and turf was delicious!

Used to go here years ago, things have definitely improved. Had a chicken dinner there Sunday and it was amazing. All homemade, great pub garden with 2 large TVs for when it's nice out. Well be back
Dropped in for a meal and a couple of beers. Food was fine and selection of real ales very good. I opted for Black Sheep which was in very good form. My 4* probably equates to most people's 5* which would apply to the staff, very friendly and obliging. Well done the Star.
