Came for a late Sunday lunch. We were greeted very kindly, the inside of the pub is lovely. Lovely options on the menu. Went for the goats cheese starter which was really nice and the leek and potato soup which was also good, although the bread could have been a bit nicer or even warmed a bit. Both went for the beef roast (pink) and it was beautifully cooked, really tender, I’d only say would be great to have just an extra slice to make it ideal! Sticky toffee for dessert which was good but we were too full to finish! Overall, really great, would definitely go again.
Lunch
In their beer garden.
What better way to spend a very rare sunny day in a pub garden with your doggies.
Not just any pub.
It's a multi award winning gastro pub
We chose here as we know the food is good and it's very dog friendly.
They do a set menu as well as A la Carte.
The set is 2 courses £25 / 3 courses £30
We decided to have the set.

A great value meal.
Service was very good, with smiley helpful staff.
They even brought a water bowl out for our doggies 🐕.
Highly recommend a visit here.
Our dogs, Freddie & and Bobby,
loved it, too.
They do allow dogs in the bar.
Where do I start! The food, the staff, the atmosphere, absolutely amazing! The food was so delicious and the staff was so friendly and professional. We've had a such a fantastic evening and we are still buzzing. The atmosphere was amazing with live music! I loved it!
I will definitely be back and I can't wait!
We went here last week for the first time for our first meal out together since last year, and it's definitely one of our new favourites! We had the burger and fish and chips and they were unreal, I especially liked the batter on the fish as it was crispy, light and wasn't greasy at all. For pudding we shared a melt in the middle chocolate pudding and cheesecake, and the sorbet that came with the cheesecake was beautiful too. The service was timely and the young waiter was so nice, polite and chatty. They've put up a marquee which completely shielded everyone from the rain outside, and they had blankets too. 100% recommend!
A very lovely pub. The burger was the best I had so far to be fair. Me and my fiancée recently got engaged and we got a lovely dessert as a congratulations:)
Quality beautifully cooked fish and handmade chips. Service was very good. Nice place. Relaxing meal. Will definitely eat here again. Very nice sticky toffee pudding.
Didn't try food - Sunday Lunch looked good - proper hearth Yorkie pud..
Sat in the newly frefurb beer garden - kids loved it - lots of space
good clean inside - staff busy but attentive to our custom at bar..
Will definitely be visiting again..
Friendly, attentive staff serving generous high-class food. My main was even allowed to be a larger version of the starter "black pudding scotch eggs," which were divine. Homemade chips and parmesan grated high, with truffle mayo. Prices reasonable and reflective of quality and our current times. So spend and enjoy! Beautiful set up inside with "Railway" type features. My first time here; even born and bred a few miles down the road! So it's a hidden gem. I'm definitely coming back for a hot summers day or even a winter warmer...
Always a fantastic meal at The Railway whenever we visit. The roasts are top notch and they are consistently accommodating of children in our party. Can’t recommend them highly enough.
Real ales, good food and friendly service. Although very busy, our orders were taken quickly, the food was delivered piping hot and was delicious. Its our second visit and will certainly return again when in the area. There are three or four real ales on offer. The menu offers a good range of well presented good quality high end pub fare. All three courses were very good. We took advantage of the three course set menu. Portions were of a good size and we left full but not overly so. Just perfect.
