The Strawbury Duck - Entwistle - Photo album

Girls serving were friendly, polite and efficient but the gaps between ordering and starters arriving (cold items no need for cooking) was a long time and then the gap between starters and mains was even longer to the point we though we’d been forgotten about. I admit food arrived hot, well presente
EXCELLENT! Stopped for a pub lunch after walking around the reservoirs. It was quite busy but the food came within 20 minutes and was exceptional. The sandwiches we had were very tasty, fresh and not something out of a tin or packet. Highly recommended and no idea how some of the other reviews could
After a long hike stopped for dinner and definitely wasn't disappointed! I had the cheese and onion pie, friends had cheese and mushroom omelette and steak and ale pie. Portions were large and everything made fresh! The best chips I've ever had 😋 Compliments to the chef! Friendly staff and beautiful
Been a few times here after a nice walk and always noticed how lovely the food looks. Decided to go hungry to try the menu ourselves and it did not disappoint!! So delicious and generous portion sizes.
Such a lovely, cosy pub with a nice, relaxed atmosphere. The food was gorgeous. We all had the lamb shoulder and it's one of the best we've ever had. The staff were helpful and attentive. There are tables outside for nice weather days, with a water station for dogs.
Great location in the countryside within walking distance to Entwistle Reservoir. Lovely food, my only observation is that the bread bun with the halloumi burger was dry and boring white bread, would have been better if it had been seeded or at least toasted on tgd inside and buttered. My partner
A lovely warm welcoming place was very clean and tidy. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Portions are very generous in size while the food quality is top tier. Would definitely go again. Thanks for a wonderful experience.
Off the beaten track but right next to the East Lancs Railway station. Perfect for a pit stop. Good selection of beers, wines, spirits and soft drinks. Great menu choices and the food was excellent. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Really lovely place. Would definitely recommend and will be
Very popular pub, hard to get parking spot if not there early enough. The food is amazing and the rooms are great too. Stay the night then experience the fantastic full English breakfast the next morning.
Lovely pub, With great scenery to go with It. Considering booking a room and trying the food in the next few weeks. Staff are also great! Highly recommended.
Food was great and very filling. We had three Sunday Lamb Roasts which consisted of a large Yorkshire Pudding, savoy Cabbage along with a honey roasted parsnip. I had the ‘Pie of the Day’ Pork with Cider in a short crust pastry with Garden peas and home made chips. Followed by Sticky Toffee pudding
Great overnight stay. Room was spotless n comfortable. Food on the night was delicious 😋. Staff were very friendly and helpful 👌
Just been for the steak night. Lovely cosy pub. The nicest steak I've had and the chips are so nice. Excellent value for money and really friendly staff.
Fantastic freshly cooked food worth the extra wait and not shy on portions. Value for quality and price. Beautiful location, friendly staff and atmosphere, my only gripe was the very uncomfortable seating which have seen better days, however, I shall be returning.
Parking is difficult but worth it. Excellent beer, food to die for, try the hanging kebab. Beautiful country walks to give your appetite a boost or to burn off some calories after your meal. Very Nordic feel around Entwistle reservoir.
Good service and great staff. The strawberry gravy was quite an unusual take on a traditional meal. Good size meals and good quality. Nice ales too. Recommended.
We stopped off at this pub half way through a long walk around Turton and Entwistle reservoirs, and we're very glad we did. The service and the food was absolutely amazing. We both had the 3 meat roast, which came complete with a giant Yorkshire pudding and plenty of veg and roast potatoes. The staf
