I started going to Olive around the time COVID-19 kicked in (just as Andy was opening up the store). I only ever have a good experience, both on food and service. All of the team are terrific, and the food is always fresh. The place is spotless. Visit!

Such amazing food at decent prices. The guys in here made me a dish that wasn’t on the menu. They always go out of their way to satisfy their customers and are the most friendly small family business in the town. They make various fresh juices, have a great coffee menu, milk alternatives, and much to choose from on the food menu. Would highly recommend.

Came on the advice from neighbours and wasn't disappointed. The reuben sandwich on granary was a cracker. Tasty soft salt beef. Very well presented and reasonably priced. Chips were the fat potatoey ones too.

Funnily enough I had walked past this cafe several times thinking it was a health food shop until I saw a favourable review on social media. Today I stopped in to try the Full English Breakfast. Its a very nicely decorated cafe with decent furniture and friendly staff. A good start. The menu is very healthy as opposed to the 'traditional' greasy spoon but that's no bad thing. The coffee was good, a nice flavour with just a hint of bitterness although perhaps a little small in size.I also chose to have a healthy juice drink - I can't recall exactly what was in it but it was much better than I expected. The main event was the fry up and I wasn't disappointed. I've had fry up's all over the world and while this wasn't the best - that award goes to a cafe in Banff Canada - it was far from shabby. The fried eggs were cooked to perfection, no runny white and the yolks with just a hint of firmness. The mushrooms were good too while the baked beans were just baked beans. The hash browns were crispy without being greasy or mushy. The sausage was the real highlight - a Cumberland style with enough pepperiness and a nice amount of porky salty fatness. And it was cooked just right so that the skin gave out that little ripping sound when cut. Lovely! The negatives - not that they were really negative - were the bacon which didn't have much flavour or texture and the toast which was a pappy white bread. I would suggest a better quality bacon - maybe streaky - cooked a bit crisper and a perhaps more robust bread such as a seeded or crusty bloomer. All in all, it was a decent breakfast priced at just £6.95. I honestly would have paid more especially with different bacon and bread. Well worth a visit and I shall return especially for the sausages.
