Review Wheelwright Arms - Erwood

In the area looking at vehicles up from Cornwall. Stopped off here and the food was absolutely amazing, freshly cooked, hot great prices. Would love to come again if it wasn't so far. Also great bags of local cakes on the bar for just £2. Very happy.

We can across this pub on our way between campsites, friendly welcome although pretty empty when we arrived (probably time of day and midweek) Food was quick and very good. They also provided us with a bowl of water for the dog 🐶 I only wanted something small so went with one of the basket meals and there was a secret stash of nuggets in that basket 😊

Lovely lunch on the way back from a camping trip. Food was lovely - our party had the sirloin steak, ham egg & chips, and lamb shank. The staff were absolutely lovely, very friendly and happy to do anything for you. A lovely pub with great food and a nice atmosphere

Excellent Sunday lunch! Gluten-free chips always available (skin-on and tasty, cooked in separate frier) along with options of gluten-free fish, gluten-free risotto, steak and occasionally duck. Unfortunately, these are not labelled yet on the menu but the chef was very helpful. Good value for money, tasty food!

Found the Wheelwright Arms by chance whilst visiting Builth Wells for the Royal Welsh Show. Nice country pup that obvoslt geared up for the increase in visitors due to the show. Good pub grub and an excellent choice of beers served by friendly staff. Well worth a visit if you are n the area.

If relaxed and unpretentious is what you are looking for wether you are visiting Erwood/ surrounding areas or simply just passing through the area, then The Wheelwright Arms is the place to go. The pub offers a calm and friendly local environment that is kept well. The drink choice is superb and the food offers a traditional pub style menu and is outstanding (Also a great proportion for the price). Having also walked past the kitchen window when walking around the area whilst trying to find my way around Erwood, I noted how immaculate the kitchen was kept, which was very reassuring. Staff are friendly, welcoming and enjoy a laugh and a joke with you along the way. Would 100% recommend. P.S. The Fish and Chips are just amazing!!

We started going to this pub two years ago as we wanted to find somewhere dog friendly. We were made so welcome by the Landlord, staff and locals. The food is good quality and value for money and although there is a menu, the Landlord will go out of his way to pretty much cater for most needs and requirements. Handy position, with lovely surrounding walks. Cosy, traditional, village pub.

The staff are the best! Arrived around 3.30 and no chef, but were offered a basic menu and food arrived well cooked with a beaming smile to grateful hungry diners! We were travelling back from the Wales Working and Pastoral Breeds Champ show at Builth and found a dog friendly pub, with beer garden directly accessed from the car park, so safe from the main road. Thanks to all at The Wheelwrights Arms xxx
