We decided to try some local Philly pizza while we were passing thru and found Romano's not too far from our hotel. We called and ordered as they do not deliver and picked up our pizza and salads then took them back to the hotel. Our sons small cheese pizza looked good and he ate it before we could take a picture so that says it was good. My wife and I got the Romano's Supreme pizza and I must say it is stacked with toppings and is nearly perfect. My only gripe is I do not like canned mushrooms and it had a lot of them on it. So much so that I believe they were the culprit of the somewhat soggy crust. My wife did not eat her salad but when I dug into mine I was very disappointed to see brown and some pieces of rotten lettuce. I am a salad guy and find this way too often on take out salads, where is the quality control! Ultimately I would go back for the pizza minus the canned mushrooms but would definitely skip the salads.

A legendary spot! Where else can you get the original first ever Stromboli? No where else, that’s where. Melissa was very kind. The place has a homey, checkered table cloth kind of vibe. Would definitely recommend.

The Strombolis are crunchy and flaky. Very delicious. Can’t wait to try some other items in the near future.

They put America cheese on the pizza. It looks and tastes awful. Definitly never ordering from again. Update: why was American cheese the automatic option then? It may have been on our ticket but it was the worst pizza I have ever seen or tasted.

Was trying to find an Italian restaurant open on a Monday, so glad we wound up at Romano's. This place has clearly been a neighborhood institution for 75+ years for good reason. Wide variety of pasta, pizza, and of course originators of the stromboli. That alone is all the reason you need to come here. BUT, I think their tomato pie is a real star as well. A pretty thin square crust (not as thin as the Trenton tomato pies) with cheese on top, and then covered in a delicious tomato sauce (it has a little zing to it). My daughter had an excellent meatball stromboli, and I got a cheesesteak stromboli. Ambiance was great: clean, no frills spot, like going to grandma's for Sunday dinner. Staff was very nice and attentive. I had ordered the pizza to take home, and they had it ready as we settled the bill. All in all, a real local gem with an awesome history and tremendous food!

Warm and Inviting Atmosphere, Hot and Delicious Pizza Just from a wild set of coincidences, we ended up in Romano's last night when Max & Denise were playing the first live music show that Romano's has held since the pandemic began. Despite the packed house, we were treated like locals. Wait staff was friendly and skilled, the show was great, and we loved the food. Wish we lived closer so we could go back!

Love Romano's! Their square pizza, cheese on the bottom, is my favorite. You can even get a kit to finish making it at home and it's almost as good as being there. Also enjoy the various types of strombolis. I've never tried the dinners, but my family and friends really like those too. Service here is always quick and pleasant and prices are good. I highly recommend Romano's!

NO FLAVOR! My son and I both got a chicken Alfredo for a total of $50! and it was horrible. The Alfredo sauce was so watered down it had no flavor. They used real grilled chicken but again no seasoning. The noodles were soggy. The bread was good. When I walked into the restaurant it smelled so good but after eating our $25 flavorless mush we were devastated. I'm convinced they had an Italian seasoned candle burning because they did not use the seasoning on the food.
