Had the loveliest meal at the Dinosaur Cafe - my sister recommended the place as she knows I love Mediterranean food. The Hummus was tasty and the pita was warm! The Mixed Salad really made me very happy - it was an amazing spread of flavours on a plate. And the Turkish tea was a great way to end off the meal. Glad I got to have dinner there as they seemed to have many reservations but I hadn’t made one, and it’s a Saturday night. Definitely recommend paying them a visit!

Hands down the best home cooked meal restaurant! The service was great! They were so nice. My bf introduced me to Dinosaur cafe bec he used to live in Exeter, and now we come here every year when we go to Exeter.

A delightful little cafe with cosy and charming ambience. The food exceeded all expectations in both quality and quantity, and all for a very reasonable price. The food was paired with equally pleasant and welcoming service. A definite must for those looking for a great meal with no fuss.

The lovely waiting staff bumped this review from a three to a four, but it was the food that let this eatery down for me. It's probably because I've eaten at other Turkish/Med restaurants and cafes at the top of town (Sidwell St) which, in my opinion, are much better. I ordered a mixed kebab and was surprised by how small the portion was. I counted seven small pieces of diced lamb and six equally small pieces of chicken. The food was cooked well enough and the coffee I had was lovely, but I left feeling I hadn't had a particularly satisfying experience. Horses for courses, I know, but I will stick to the places at the other end of town.

A very enjoyable Monday evening saying farewell to a colleague. Delicious food, wonderful Turkish coffee, fresh homemade baklava and personable attentive service.

Really nice food, well cooked and good friendly service. I had the mixed kebab, which was delicious, served with rice and a salad. Good selection of food on the menu both British and Turkish.

Never did I know this place existed until my friend introduced us to this place. Small cafe selling Turkish, Mediterranean, and English food, with friendly staff a little outside the city centre 🙂 Place opens for dinner too, but felt the this cafe is best for brunch or lunch! First time having a Turkish coffee, I rate it, and can have an option of little or no sugar. I had it without and tasted really smooth, but they'll be granules on the bottom if you never had one. Food I got a Karniyarik which was really tasty and really good price in Exeter. My friends also enjoyed their meals which where the meatballs and Turkish Breakfast (and the good coffee 👍) Should really visit here if you have a chance!

I cannot overstate how good the food is here, I don’t know what they put in it, I don’t know what the secret ingredient is, it looks like many other Turkish restaurants, but when you taste the salad, the rice, the meat it’s just something else. This is the only place I will eat in Exeter from now on. Only downside is it’s quite hard to park near it but if you are on foot it’s just down from central station about five minute walk . Don’t just read the reviews and wonder… go and try 🙏

Truly delicious! Even the starters are big enough for a full meal. The cafe was so calm and relaxing as well.

Great food and incredible service. This cozy restaurant is such a special place in Exeter. It’s where my husband and I go to celebrate and have always had the best experiences. The menu is the perfect size to expect the dishes have been mastered and wow have they nailed it! We’ll just keep coming back.

Always lovely to return here. This place has been in business for many years while others nearby have come and gone. Great service, good food, I must visit more often.

Lovely Mediterranean restaurant by the clock tower in Exeter city centre. Despite being a tiny little place the Dinosaur cafe is packed full of flavour. We have visited the Dinosaur cafe several times so we have dined in under the old and the new management and I can assure prospective customers, the flavour is still there bringing good fresh homemade flavours and aromas from Turkey including favourites dishes such as kofte (meatballs), Karniyarik (stuffed aubergine), moussaka among many others until you reach the desserts so make sure to try their baklavas for a right treat. Moreover, the staff we've met over the years at the cafe have all been fantastic, friendly (great with kids), kind and informative if you're happy to explore new flavours for instance if you're interested in tasting the specials of the day. I would not hesitate in recommending this restaurant whether you're dining in or taking the food away. Lovely little Mediterranean place in Exeter city centre.

Been meaning to pay these guys a visit for a long time. So pleased we did. The food is really quite incredible. My starter was Sucuk, Turkish sausage with pitta bread. The flavour of the sausage is just beautiful. Next up; Moussaka. This was delicious, served with salad. I have to say that this is a completely unassuming cafe/restaurant that isn't remotely pretentious. The food, service and also the Turkish wines are really excellent. It's an absolute gem in Exeter's food scene. The owner and staff were friendly, the atmosphere relaxed. I can't recommend it enough, and we'll be back with friends soon. Book now!

Great food and such genuine warm service. Had a cracking meze to share to start with. The lamb stuffed aubergine and kebabs for main were seriously good. Thanks again!

We had lunch for 6 and shared a big mezze and had baklava and ice cream for pudding. It was all delicious and the staff were very friendly. It was also a good price!

The food and service were both great! We had the sigara boregi and homemade falafel as starters. Then we had the kofte and moussaka as mains. All if the food was well cooked, well spiced and just all in all very enjoyable. I particularly liked the falafel, since they were not dry and had an amazing flavour.
