Set in the Stunning Exeter Quay, where there has been extensive regeneration (of the whole area) which is now looking fantastic. The repurposing of the traditional quay side buildings brings another level to these establishments. I managed to book On The Waterfront through Google itself which was really quick and efficient. The restaurant has stunning decor, which is massively enhanced by the use of the original 19th century warehouse architecture. The restaurant specialises in pizza and this is predominantly the menu options. The service was friendly, although not entirely attentive as we would have enjoyed another round of drinks. Our serving staff did change multiple times as well leading us to be unsure about a tip as there was no stand out service received (this also was not because of the restaurant being busy, as at the time we ate the restaurant was about half empty) The pizza was tasty but again it was 'just' pizza (in quotations because this is their niche and they are good at it). The atmosphere was great, really nice place to go for special occasions.

Lovely pizza on the quayside.
As you will see from my reviews I love pizza so when out with family at Exeter quay I took the opportunity to visit On the Waterfront to taste their locally famous dustbin lid pizzas. I ordered the salami and pepperoni which came out in about 20 mins and was perfect. Lovely dough and just the right amount of toppings.
The restaurant is just on the quay and has great views. Staff are friendly and the place is great value.
Highly recommended.

Good prices, app is working really good, so there will be no problems with placing an order. Cocktails are nice, pizza is really fantastic, especially with some extra cheese.

Nicely situated on Exeter Quay under the arches of an old warehouse, this bar and restaurant is a little quirky but well appointed. A good variety for of pizzas look very good and for the hungry there are oversize ones available. We had the burgers which were served with chips and a small pot of red slaw. The chips were great but the beef pate was lacking seasoning, although palatable. An extra star is awarded for providing heinz tomato ketchup in a bottle rather than those horrible plastic sachets which are hard to open without coating your fingers in the stuff. (I usually deduct a star for places providing sachets as it smacks of putting profit before customer care.)

Really enjoyed our visit here. Went for a daughter's birthday as we were in Exeter at the nearby clip n climb. Didn't really think through our ordering as the dustbin lid sized garlic bread was, as it's name implied, enormous. 2 of us probably didn't need to order our own starters - although they were delicious. The pizzas (and 1 nacho) we ordered for our mains were lovely and again quite large. The provision of boxes for what we were unable to eat was most welcome and 1 meal turned into 2 with the leftovers consumed the next day. Food was nice, beer was nice and the place had a buzz and nice feel to it. Service was also good.

The food served here is pizza and had many varieties. You should try their 30 inch pizza if you go in a group. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is great.

A lovely place on the Quay in Exeter. Nice atmosphere, and the food options were plentiful. Food came out quickly, but they did get my friend's order wrong and then charged us twice for it on the bill. All was resolved in the end but could have been easily avoided.
It's a nice dining experience overall with a decent price point. I would recommend as a stop from shopping in the centre.

What a great restaurant. Firstly we were greeted promptly and the service thereafter was brilliant. The waitresses were fast with our requests and nothing felt like it was causing any trouble for them.
I ordered a pizza that, while at a glance maybe looked a little overdone, I wouldn't have it again cooked any less. It was really nice. Sauces were tasty.
Thank you for a lovely first visit.

Lovely attentive staff. We had booked a table for Saturday night and so were sat inside and had table service. The sharing nachos and garlic pizza dustbin lid were HUGE! We had also ordered mains before seeing said starter sharers, we were mostly full on the starters so barely had half our mains which was a waste of food. We took some pizza and curly fries home in a takeaway box. We know for next time to either just have sharers and tapas or just have a main. The pizza is epic!! It's a lovely dough! Another vote for the crispy duck pizza! Was delish. We hope to return when next in the area.

Very popular and 'touristy' and not my normal go-to venue, but it was on the Cask Marque Ale Trail and at least one visit was warranted.
The beer, was OK, no complaints there.
I also had a late lunch, the pizza's were on fluffy pastry and although very good, also very filling.
Sitting outside under the parasols facing the river, is quite a good people watching spot

Very well located by Exeter Quay, very friendly staff, but food was just okay.
We came here for lunch after a short visit in Exeter. We were looking for places with nice views, as we are kind of like visitors to the area. This restaurant is very located in the popular quay side area. There is a public parking station very nearby, which is convenient.
Most of the seatings are inside - a little not ideal, as we couldn’t see the nice view, but it was a bit cold to sit outside.
The staff was very friendly and the wifi was fast, as we needed to finish some work online.
The food was just okay - a bit lower than my expectation. We had a pizza, a burger, some pork belly side dish and and bean pancake. The pork belly was very chewy and the pizza was a bit too oily. The drinks were also not that great.
Anyway, come to visit on the summer day with some nice quay views!

Fantastic pizza. Especially the 30inch.
They messed up one of our pizzas and gave us 2 for free to take home.
Staff were lovely.

Epic 30 inch long pizzas and the dustbin lid garlic bread was amazing. Vegan and gluten free options were really tasty. Thanks so much to the staff for their care and great service

Haven't been here for ages and was so surprised how good it still is. Went for a pizza. It was as proper pizza should be. Excellent choice of toppings. Salt and pepper fries fab. Not gonna leave it so long next time. A really great experience.

Went for the you've pulled pizza and it was delicious, very good portion sizes and plenty of toppings the BBQ base wasn't overpowering. The service was quick for takeaway with a full resteraunt. The staff were friendly.

Love this place, always an enjoyable meal with good atmosphere. In terms of wheelchair access, there are plenty of tables with good access but it can be quite narrow if seated in the tunnels at the back. Low lighting gives a great atmosphere but can be limiting for diners with visual impairments.

Wonderful restaurant with lots of different things to try - lovely atmosphere and general mood with lots of space as well. Staff are really helpful and lovely - only downfall was that the waiting time could have been a bit faster, but apart from that it was brilliant.

Great spot and excellent view.
Interior is massive and the decor very nice.
Tables outside a huge plus. Especially to enjoy the view.
Food is very good. Pizza highly recommended. Bear in mind that the large pizza is huge. So it's for two.
Service bit slow.
(Minus one star since we asked 4 times for someone to clean our table but at the end we did it ourselves)
