Lovely food, friendly staff, clean, in Exeter City Centre, only complaint and it's not really a complaint but an observation, it was a bit noisy due to place being over flowing with customers, which actually is a good sign of a quality establishment. People waiting patiently for a table to become available. (It was Saturday night) Would recommend The Real Indian to curry lovers anytime, without hesitation. :)

Staff were amazing, they did a thankyou to the community for their support with an invitation buffet, food was well stocked and really tasty, rice was fluffy and tasty. Perfect. Thankyou Edit: Having read some of the other reviews I feel compelled to elaborate a bit. The food was spot on, it was kept warm on the buffet which is not easy to do especially with rice as it easily dries out but all was good. The kitchen could be seen while stood at the bar getting drinks and I'd happily say it was clean but in use, nothing I wouldn't expect to see in a busy restaurant mid shift, and it was busy, people waiting to get a seat busy. The staff, I only saw the chef back and for stocking up the buffet, he was polite and courteous even when stood there holding piping hot big trays of food happily waiting for people to finish getting their fill before allowing him through. The guy clearing and cleaning the tables was on it within seconds clearing the table and then cleaning it ready for the next eager customer. Above all was the manager /owner, he was very polite, very willing to help and to be honest some of the best customer service I have received for longer than I would care to remember, he deserves the 5 stars by himself. I think it speaks volumes when a company actually takes the time to reply to reviews, that tells you they actually care about your experience. I can't think of a better way to put it other than I salute your service and food tonight and for giving back to the customers that have supported you. Keep doing what you do best.

Lovely night out for our 40th Anniversary! The staff were brilliant even though they were really busy. Food was amazing. Really lovely that they remembered that it was our anniversary from when we had booked! Extra nice touch was the night caps after our meal. Will definitely be going back!

Both my husband and I had a lovely meal at this restaurant. The food was cooked to perfection and was plentiful. In addition to this the owner really knows his wines and only stocks quality. If the grape is not good he doesn't buy it. The service was excellent. I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant. 10 out of 10.

Food was good: tasty, great portions, and it looked great too. My only complaint is that it took FOREVER to be delivered—almost 2 hours!! I would like to eat here again, but I’m not sure when I would have 2 hours just to wait for food to be made.

I've ordered from here 4 times now. I've never been disappointed and am always left full. At times I'm able to get 20% off, so the price is very reasonable compared to every other indian takeaway I've seen. I've been beyond disappointed by other takeaways in exeter, so I now only order from establishments. Although, I make an exception for this takeaway service. 5☆+

My partner and I have been searching for an Indian locally that gives both quality of service and ultimately, provides a great taste whilst accommodating our food requirements. Real india not only gives us the most tantalisingly delicious flavours but they are happy to work with our intolerance to certain foods. The staff are friendly on the phone and we have used just eat to order as well. We have tried 4 or 5 of the Indian takeaways within a 15 minute radius of us in Beacon Heath and not one has a patch on them. We have recommended to family who also prefer them and before the lockdown; our family have driven from Crediton to Exeter to collect their meal as it is so good. Thank you Real India for keeping us happy during harder times🙏.

I randomly chose this place, as i had walked past a few times and it smelt great. Was super impressed, Simply amazing curry! The service was great, the owner even come over for a chat to see how i was faring. The place was jam packed the entire night which is always a great sign. Would definitely come back

Ordered online and collected set meal for two, very happy with it. Portions were generous, good amount of a variety of flavours (one more spicy one, a classic chicken tikka, couple earthy veggie ones). Definately ordering again, the best Indian takeaway I've gotten during lock down (to date this slightly)

Amazing Indian food in a small compact city centre Indian restaurant. We've been using this restaurant for 12 years and are rarely., no never disappointed. If you are planning to eat at a weekend it is best to prebook ad it is small and is often fully booked. Alternatively get a takeaway that are equally good.

Very good food for the price, had a lovely meal, however staff were slow to serve, this was due to the amount of customers in the restaurant. The manager did accommodate us after, but would have been nice to have consistent service.
