We both selected main courses from the main fish menu to get the best from this restaurant we suggest thus option, and can’t commend the dishes enough, the flavour of the black pudding mash and leeks with the Scallops was simply fantastic. I had trio of fish including John Dory, Lemon sole and brill, it was simply delicious, we always order New Zealand savignonne Blanc, shame it’s so oyster bay and £28.50 a bottle, but that’s restaurants and we had a bottle rather than two. The chocolate and baileys mouse was delightful but too rich for me, my partner loved it together with us all singing him happy birthday. Well worth a visit for a occasion. Flavours are out of this world.
One final thing, I felt the bread served, (possible rye bread) with the butter was very dry, I had seen on previous reviews it’s normally homemade sourdough which was a shame,
Visit the Chronicle, Ricardo & Emma are lovely hosts
The atmosphere was nice and relaxed . The team couldn't do enough to ensure you enjoyed your meal . Plus omg the scallops I had where the best I've ever had . This restaurant is worth a visit if your in the area . Many thanks for a great meal
Gorgeous and quirky restaurant 5 minutes from exmouth seafront. We had breakfast - the food was fresh and tasted great. The lunch and dinner menu looked lovely but we didn't get chance to try it. The decor is striking and modern - I absolutely loved it. The staff were attentive and friendly. Thank you, we will be back!
My wife and I visited The Chronicle last week for dinner, and what a lovely experience it was. We were welcomed warmly by Eloise who was very kind and patient, giving us advise on the menu and consulting with the Chef on possible choices. The meals, when they came, were absolutely delicious as was the wine, and the desert, chocolate brownie with cream, was utterly divine. We had a perfect evening in The Chronicle, and recommend it highly.
A quirky, nice place finished in art deco styling.
The food was pretty good, tasty and well presented. On this visit, unfortunately, there was a bit of a mix-up with what was served with our starters, and the tiny portion of halibut for 1 of the main courses at £29 was derisory.
We really enjoyed our meal at the Chronicle. The food was delicious, the service very friendly. Thank you.
Had a gorgeous evening meal at The Chronicle. Absolutely delicious food. Brilliant, warm, friendly, courteous service from booking through to leaving.
The restaurant itself has beautiful aesthetics and a great atmosphere.
You could tell the food was fresh and of high quality, and, it was cooked to perfection.
This restaurant really is a gem in Exmouth’s crown.
Pleasant restaurant a stones throw from where we were staying. We had a meal here for our anniversary with our 6 month old. Staff were great, attentive and friendly. Good range of dishes with some very nice seafood on offer.
4 adults and 2 children had the Sunday roast and all of us thought the food was excellent. 3 of the group also had desserts which were equally good, in particular the sticky toffee pudding and the chocolate brownie.
I would definitely go back to The Chronicle!
I had a superb brunch here. The staff were very friendly and the service was excellent. Food was excellent quality, delicious and plenty of it. Nice view of Manor gardens from my table, and even the music was delightful.
Lovely restaurant for date night.
Beautiful meal served by lovely staff at an all round good price, will certainly be back. Thank you
Sunday lunch was excellent. We had a table in the window with a view out to Manor Gardens. Service was friendly and food was very good and hot. There were no tables free and there was a nice vibe to the place.
We would definitely recommend and will be returning...
