I recently visited The establishment lovely service, I got seated straight away and was served as I sat down. Staff were very friendly and warm and welcoming on our first day on holiday. My fruit shoot arrived in 2 minutes and then our food order was taken immediately, I had the margherita Pizza, It was warm and fresh out of the oven. Would definitely recommend if you want a cheap and easy meal for the first day of holiday. After reading the bad reviews I still wanted to give this a shot, and I am very glad I did I loved it, the kids loved it, So overall an amazing restaurant. Will be returning.
After reading the reviews we were slightly worried but thought we'd give it a go anyway. Food was nice. Expect Witherspoon's type dining. Prices are great! £49 for 3 adults meals, a kids meal and drinks all round. Service could be a bit better but not bad. Atmosphere is what you'd expect from a holiday park.
After reading all the bad reviews we was a bit unsure if we should eat here. But to our surprise the food was good and service was fine. We had the rump steak medium rare and no lie it was the best steak we have eaten it was cooked to perfection.
We had the character breakfast here and had booked in advance. We ordered via the Haven serve site which was easy to use and pay. There were 2 families across 2 tables but were sat on adjacent tables. If you ordered at the bar you get your drinks straight away whereas if you order on the app then you wait for them. There was about a 10 min wait until they came which was fine for us. The food came out fairly quickly. I was happy with all the food we had sausage baps, a kids breakfast and toast and it was all good quality, hot and tasty. The character breakfast part was good we met George and he went to each table and had a good interaction with everyone. The kids loved it!!!! The next day we popped back and had another breakfast and coffee so I think that says it all!
The outdoor seating area is lovely. Plenty of covered tables. We also shared a few small plates which were ok, not the best standard but nice enough to enjoy with a few drinks. Unfortunately on our visit they was missing quite a few drinks, unable to make aperol sprits etc. The staff are also very helpful and friendly. My main criticism of this place, and what would put me off dining or eating inside is the extremely bizarre smell that over powers the whole venue. From about 3 steps outside you can smell it, it is like a weird cheesy smell, hard to explain but I’ve not quite smelt anything like it in other places.
Please dont take all the negative feedback to heart as we had our evening meal at the Mash & Barrel on a busy Friday night and it was amazing! Steak cooked to perfection, spare ribs amazing, mixed grill spot on, chicken pasta super! Spent £113 on our meals and it was spot on! Staff lovely and if you order via the QR code its so quick!! Defo recommennd!!!!!
Literally just got back from Haven in Devon cliffs, I don't really understand the negative reviews.
We visited on our 1st night which was Friday, didn't book...but very quickly got seated. Food ordered by the app and arrived very quickly...was hot, presented well and the waitress was very friendly and had banter with my son (didn't catch her name)
Clean plates and happy tummys all round.
Went back there on Saturday night just for drinks on the terrace in between activities, table service was a bit slower due to being busier but again very friendly service and apologies for the delay.
Today being our final day and raining...we entered for breakfast before our 1st activity... again fast service and hot food and drinks.
Will definitely dine here again on our next visit to Devon Cliffs.

Firstly if you require a reservation the Haven app is required. You will need to set up an account for the Mash and Barrel. Once this stage completed you will be able to book depending on availability.
Main entrance is located up the escalator (toilets located here) in the upper floor of the amusement complex.
This place is massive, more of a canteen feeling then restaurant but floor staff deal with no concern. Do be a little patient when waiting for food this is a busy kitchen and the staff are non stop. All digital when ordering, waiting staff will take orders.
Food - x2 kids, x2 Adults. No issues at all with food. Drinks I would just say more liquid then ice and also give then a stir 👍👌.
Will visit again. Only reason not for 5 stars is the canteen in and out feeling.
