We were staying at Haven, and this little gem caught our eye and I'm so glad it did. Very cute cottage style pub. Relaxed and very welcoming atmosphere. First visit was my partner and me (date night) 🩷 My partners liver and oinion were pit of this world, cooked to perfection. It was so good we went back again with the family and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the food. Food was absolutely delicious and couldn't argue with the prices. We will definitely be going there next time in the area 🍻⛱️🙂

Pictured are 2 specials from the board of the day - 'beef bourguignon' and I think it was 'chicken stroganoff'. Both home made and a bit on the peppery side - I think the beef was best. Very enjoyable meal although others in our party didn't like the pepper too much. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, but I would recommend parking in the street outside as the car park could get a bit cramped. You'd probably best book too!

We came down from London to Devon for 1 week and this was by far the best thing we had done. We were talking to the lovely owners Steve and Kerry and we must have been talking for 2 hours, the service was quick, the scones with the cream and jam was absolutely beautiful, we then had a roast dinner in which the beef was tender, potatoes seasoned and crispy and the vegetables just as nice along with the Yorkshires which were beautiful. If you want either a pub or to get some good British lunch then definitely come here, the atmosphere was something else, they were very welcoming. This is definitely the best pub I’ve been to.

Had liver and onions with mash, my mum would have this as better than hers. #childhood. Cottage pie was out of this world. Kids loved the food, thank god. Missy was over the moon with her food. Been to haven on sand bay x3... Going again next year... Will be eating here again and again. Looking forward to it all ready. Thank you Steve, Kerry and staff. Top draw ref table 2

The roast dinner is lovely, both owners Steve and Kerry were very welcoming to not only us adults but the kids, the kids loved Kerry and it was reciprocated, she was very family friendly and you could tell she was a mother. The owner Steve was a well respectable man as well.

OK so I can't avoid the fact the dining room is snug. But the food far from made up for that fact. It could do with a sprucing up to bring it in to the 21st century. But dining and food wise we had a lovely meal..would go back, and its worth giving a chance. As it's one of the more tucked away places..it may get over looked But lovely roast!

We booked a table for 12 people but turned up with 17 including 5 children which was no trouble at all for the hosts who accommodated us all together. To say that the food is prepared and served by just two people, the speed and quality of service was far better than anything experienced at the Haven site up the road. Would absolutely recommend! And don’t be out off by google maps showing the pub as “temporary closed” it’s very much open and well worth a visit.

Great place. The staff very friendly and helpful. Food is amazing... Scones, jam and cream... Great value and very tasty.... Highly recommended. It is a quaint place so for a peaceful drink and food, visit very soon.... And you don't need to break the bank to eat here. Portion size is very good
