Review The Four Horseshoes - Eye

Stumbled across this on the way home from a mini break in Norfolk, a peaceful spot not far off of the A140 so it didn't add much to the journey, which was handy. The service was impeccable and the food was absolutely brilliant. We shared a pork & stuffing baguette and the Fisherman's Platter and we were both very impressed. Will definitely be returning!

Stopped for lunch on way to deepest darkest north Norfolk and could not have been happier. Staff amazing and accommodating to our two dogs. They got treats on a plate too. Food amazing, price not bad at all.

We found this place after exploring Thornham Walks (a 4 min drive away). This is a rather large pub with plenty of seating inside and as we discovered, also offers rooms. We stopped for a bite to eat and were surprised how busy it was for during the week & outside the school holidays - must be testament to how good the place is! We had a little wait for food which wasn't an issue - gave me a chance to feed my daughter so I could enjoy mine when it arrived! Menu choices is vast and portions are good - and best of all it was very reasonably priced for a rural pub. Will definitely stop by again and will take a photo of the outside next time! It's beautiful!!!

A last we had a meal at The Four Horseshoes at Thornham, as we've always passed through and never stopped to visit. We were not disappointed as I can honestly say that every bit of our Sunday lunch was so tasty. The staff were friendly, the pub full of character and food very delicious. The only thing I think, which could do with some improvement, is the toilets, which are rather tired and could do with updating, the cubicles are also really small which makes getting in and out a tad difficult. So very glad we visited at last and will definitely return.

Ate here for the second time today, to have a light lunch for our anniversary. The staff are absolutely wonderful - so welcoming, polite and friendly. The food is so tasty too, and reasonably priced. Seems out in the middle of nowhere, passing through such villages to get to it but well worth the trip. Will certainly be going again really soon to enjoy a full evening meal. Highly recommended as they also cater for children with a children's option on the menu.

We didn't stay here, only ate and drank. Everything about this place was exceptional. It has a lovely cozy vibe, that you feel upon walking in. The staff were lovely and made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. The waitresses were tentative and helpful. The food was amazing. Everything was cooked fresh and tasted delicious. The suffolk smoky starter was incredible. The sirloin steak was perfect. The onion rings were beautiful, as were the chips, mushrooms, tomato and salad, with its dressing. And finally, the cocktails, they were the best things we'd ever tasted. It was well worth every single penny coming here and we will definitely be back again soon. Thank you.

My partner and I went to The Four Horseshoes for our Valentine's Day meal back in February and the service and food was 10/10. Very friendly front of house staff greeted us with a warm welcome and wished us a happy valentine's day, we were seated next to a cosy fire which set the theme perfectly. Our Valentines Day menu was a full variety of popular courses to choose from. The chefs special choices were superb. Very friendly pub and staff. 5 stars

Visited this lovely pub for Sunday Lunch and we had an exceptional experience of home cooked food. A selection of freshly cooked vegetables, crispy roast potatoes, meat as served in a carvery and Sarah's home cooked Yorkshire puddings which rose to the occasion.Plenty of delicious gravy not too thick. Homemade sticky toffee pudding excellent. All reasonable priced. All staff gave 110 persent. Thourghly recommended, we are looking forward to a return visit.

Visited this lovely pub on Tuesday and was absolutely delighted with my experience. Service was fast, lighthearted and friendly and the meal its self was absolutely delicious. The building itself is also stunning! Would absolutely recommend to anyone in the area.

They were able to squeeze us in for dinner on Christmas eve. Welcoming atmosphere and efficient service from the smiling girls. Food was good and a local beer went down very well. Well worth a visit.

I just want to say a big thank you to this pub and their lovely staff. I was stuck in the floods on Friday, 20th October and sought refuge at the pub as there was no way I could get home....I was made to feel very welcome, kept warm, fed & watered........and I stayed until last orders! So thank you for all your help and support, there was a great community spirit within the pub and I hope all the staff and other pub users got home safely.

Lovely friendly pub, good food, intriguing menu, which I fully intend to explore further! Best onion rings batter ever! They also do early breakfast, morning coffee and bacon rolls, lunch, afternoon special tea, and dinner. We really enjoyed our lunch today, and my son had vegan sausage and mash. Lovely! They were very accommodating for my wheelchair, too. Great visit!

I was in a group of six eating here on a busy pre-Christmas lunchtime. The venue is attractive it is convenient for the A140, the food was fine and well-priced, and the waiting staff were excellent.

Beautiful Suffolk pub and amazing food! As soon as you approach The Four Horseshoes you know it's going to be a great pub! A classic looking Suffolk pub, beautiful on the outside and the in! Plus it's dog friendly! Welcoming staff great you when you walk in and can't do enough to help. We found a really cosy spot to sit in, in the bar. It's huge inside and there's a choice of sitting in the bar or restaurant or, on a nice day in the garden, although the pub is a bit of a wonderland inside that you don't want to miss out, on the ambience and surroundings inside that the pub offers. The food menu consists of pub classics, with local produce and speciality's including a very tempting specials menu! I urge anyone to have the 'Gin and Tonic Cheese Cake' if it's on the specials when you dine here, absolutely fabulous and different, we loved it! I had a cheese and bacon burger for my main, beautifully served and fantastic coleslaw on the side. My husband had the steak pie, served with mash and veg, hearty, warming and succulent pieces of steak, exactly what a pie should be! Tempted as I was I had a dessert, Belgian waffles, I couldn't not... make sure you leave or find room for dessert!!! This is a perfect pub, a perfect setting and the food... 'food glorious food!' We loved it!!!

Been coming here on and off for the last 8 years since I moved to Suffolk, and although I'm not a regular, it's a pub I love coming to because of the quaintness and the ambience of it's surroundings. The food is always tasty, and I've always enjoyed a good homemade meal. The staff are friendly and polite and the prices (compared to other pubs/restaurants) are very reasonable. I'd highly recommend The Four Horseshoes to any of my friends.

I am so impressed with the service and kind response we received today. I am a carer for a young man and literally nothing is too much trouble for the staff at this pub. The food is great, staff are helpful and accommodating, and it has not gone unnoticed how much effort you put in to make sure we had the very best and positive experience today. Thank you so much and we will be back....regularly! Lisa and Mr B

I love this pub, it is a little piece of magic hidden in the Suffolk countryside. Whatever time of year you choose this fabulous pub just oozes personality and atmosphere. As for the staff, they are always First Class.

Regular visitor here with my Dad. Friendly staff. The best carvery around and the restaurant service given is very attentive/top class. Would be nice to see a change of veg at the carvery maybe seasonally otherwise can't fault the place.

Have not been here for almost 13 years. Made another wish for the future ....as last time it was granted. Had the carvery today. Spot on!! Great choice. It's definately the kind of pub I could stay on at for a few hours....sit on the settee, or outside...relax and have a few more drinks. Thank You!
