Called in for a drink but ended up ordering food which was absolutely delicious! Me, my husband and son ordered the fresh scampi which was huge prawns! Never had scampi like it before. Good portions. All fresh. Service was excellent. Would definitely recommend and call again.
Great small pub on the harbour. Used it a couple of times during my 5 day visit to Eyemouth.
The bar staff were very friendly and efficient.
I'm not sure if the restaurant upstairs is part of the contented sole but if it is I'd give it a wide berth.
How can you serve 3 stone cold cups of coffee, eat only half of 2 fish cakes and batter not fully cooked.

Brilliant place and exceptional atmosphere. Nice and cozy, with an old fisherman style. Only had a few drink but we felt so good 😊. Will definitely visit the place again and try the food too. Also must mention that the prices are more than decent.
Extremely good Fish and Chips. Kitchen was closed but they made it for me anyway. Fantastic service with a smile. Definitely Recommended.

Warm and friendly. A great welcome when you walk through the door. Biggest and best Scampi I have had. The Whitebait and the Haddock were also delicious. Recommended
Popped in for a bit of lunch on Saturday with the family.
We had our grandson with us in his pram so the staff made some space for us to have the pram at the table. Very accommodating.
Extensive menu for lunch and extremely reasonable pricing.
I had the local fish which was delicious and cooked to perfection.
My wife had the chicken goujons and she cleared her plate.
The son in law had lasagne and he polished the lot off even although it was a large portion.
My daughter had a mixed platter which she said was amazing. She had to take some home as the portion was so big.
All in all we had a fantastic lunch in a cosy wee pub.
The cost made this extremely good value for money.
Will definitely recommend the Contented Sole to anyone.

Amazing tasting local food with very friendly staff and unbeatable prices. Family/kid friendly. It might sound like a comercial, but I am very satisfied that I stopped by mistake here. Highly recommended.

Excellent food and friendly polite service with a good selection of beers, largers and spirits all reasonably priced.
The contented sole is dog friendly in the down stairs bar areas but not in the restaurant.
