Had a lovely visit to hemelvaart bier cafe! A massive selection of beers and John is so knowledgeable about them and the different breweries. Lovely home cooked food to go with the beers. We can’t wait to go back and enjoy some different drinks.
This is lovely rural pub with one of the finest selection of quality beers and home cooked food. It's a cozy and relaxed ambiance with eclectic Belgian pub styling and including a warming wood burner fire. Phil and John are welcoming and friendly owners who have created a must visit pub and regularl
An amazing place in every way! The most fabulous gigs, both comedy and music, in such a little place. Great food, lovely quirky atmosphere, fantastic friendly staff, and of course a great array of real ales. Many local and unusual beers which the proprietors are very knowledgeable about. Do not miss
Stopped here one rainy evening on the way to Edinburgh, fantastic home cooked grub, good beer, nice management 👍
Had the pheasant and pancetta pie, it was incredible. Very nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Had a lovely saison beer - only served in schooner sizes but prices aren't too bad.
Took the bus from Berwick rail station to Ayton to visit the Hemelvaart Beer Cafe. Well worth the visit for great Cask, Keg and Food. Friendly staff and a lovely Pub Cat. Can't wait for another visit.
Quirky little bar with good prices. Only visited once as we were on holiday, but wish we had found it sooner! The owners/people who run it are friendly and didn't make us feel like outsiders. If I ever go back for a holiday I will most definitely be visiting again.
Absolutely perfect place to relax on a Xmas-New Year break. Dog friendly and our eldest child loved playing shuffle board. Parmos were to die for - and we are pretty serious about parmos. This is the kind of place I could have stayed in all day pre-kids! Husband enjoyed the selection on tap, I found
Had a steak and loaded Bolognese fries between 2. Both were good. This place looks like it needs local support, so please use, I dropped in on my way between Berwick and Dunbar. They are starting to do more food. As ever with venues in small villages use it or lose it ...
Fantastic atmosphere. Great selection of beers.
Went to see Joe Black perform. Very good. Bar service was a bit haphazard, but that's how it always is. Drag acts in the middle of nowhere. A must if you're near.
Great beer! Interesting bar in small village
What a gem of a place! We visited and were blown away by the welcome we received. We got a personal beer eduction from John and the beer on offer here is world class. Food was simple and super tasty and their entertainment portfolio is varied and top quality. If you are a craft beer lover visit now!
This venue works really hard to bring top class live musicians, drag queens, and comedians to a small town in the Scottish Borders. Usually these artists would never visit such a rural part of the country so it really should be celebrated. Also an excellent range of Belgian beers and home-cooked fo
Looks like a really nice place and the selection of beers is good. Owner really nice.
What a fabulous place this is. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Great food and a excellent selection of beers, and all at very reasonable prices. Will definitely be returning next time I'm in the area.
Awesome selection of beers both bottled and on tap, and always have the best live music! The food is absolutely amazing including the curries and pies! Highly recommended!
