We come here every 6th friday when our Dog is at our groomers. I have had the chicken, ham and mustard pie its lovely, fish and chips really nice batter nice and bubbly. We bring our elderly friend who Loves the toffee, banana ice cream sundae, brought my family too and they all enjoyed their meal, the melon cheesecake is very refreshing. my partner is a plain eater so they sometimes make her sausage egg and chips, she Loves the sausages as not spicey. Staff are always very polite and very helpful.
My friends loved coming here . Food were so good, the staffs were helpful and approachable, and their 2 for 1 all day everyday offer were superb!!!Overall it was an excellent experience having a meal with your family and friends���

This is my regular when it comes to lunch breaks and come here on a daily basis. The thing that keeps me coming back time after time is the staff. I've never meet such a happy and welcoming bunch in all my life.
Inside is warm and inviting with plenty of space. And outside has a nice beer garden that is wonderful through the summer months. There is plenty for kids to do as well with both outside and inside play areas.
The food is of good quality for the price, and portion sizes are more than adequate. The BBQ Ribs are to die for, plenty of meat and has been cooked to perfection. Meat just falls off the bone. The meals are very affordable too as all main courses are two for one.
If you looking for a place to have a meal out with friends and family and don't want it to cost an arm and a leg. This is the place to go.
We enjoyed our first festive menu at The Running Horse this year. The staff were very attentive & on the ball from showing us to our table, serving drinks & food. The table was nicely set out, clean & tidy. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff.
Oh and the food was delicious!

Running horse has got to be the best place in Fakenham had a meal for 4 and it was fresh and tasty will definetly be back the staff were very polite and great service
We had lunch twice here. 7 people first time and 3 the second, plus a large German Shepherd! All staff welcoming and friendly. Good joice of menu. Service was good and food excellent. Highly recommend. Good outside area and would definitely go back.
Excellent service from all staff. Made to feel most welcome especially Hugo the dog!! Food was well presented, very tasty and good sized portions. Two members of our group had the Cowboy burger and said it was the best burger they had ever had. Will definitely come back again when we are next in the area. Thank you so much.
My wife and I eat often here with our little boy and nearly always take our dog.
Saturday we booked a table for 7 people at 13:30 and as always it was a great experience !
The service was amazing as always and the staff very friendly and eager to help.
The food was fantastic and the staff managed my mums allergy very well.
Great atmosphere for adults and children. They always welcome our dog and treat him like a little star. Love this place it’s always a pleasure.
Lovely evening tonight, we bought our 14 week puppy in as his first venture into our social life and we were made so welcome. We will be back, thank you for welcoming our puppy and being so kind, good and service was as good as ever!

When we arrived, we were advised it was a 45min wait for food as some large parties in & checked that was ok, which it was. When we ordered, the chap at the bar also let us know the wait time and checked this was ok. We appreciated the up front honesty, it set the expectation. I asked for the children’s pasta to be 2 portions but in 1 plate, for our 10yr who didn’t want to feel like a baby ordering on the kids menu. The staff were super accomodating of this request & it made her feel grown up and not “different”. This was so important to her and I’m really grateful for this easy request to be accommodated when so many other places would have said no. When the food arrived for the rest of our party, it was over cooked steak. However, it was quickly changed without any quibble. We were very appreciative of this. We could see it was busy when we arrived and nothing was too much trouble. The lovely manageress offered us free deserts to apologise. Your staff were polite courteous and accommodating. Thank you so much.
We wanted to pop out, with our dog, and grab some lunch. We managed to book a table online, with no fuss, even with a tick box to say the dog was coming. The meals were lovely. As I suffer with anxiety, going out is not easy for me, so the fact that my dog was allowed in, was a huge plus for me. I felt relaxed, and welcomed, as was my big dog
Always enjoy our visit here. Food good and competitively priced. Staff were very busy, probably could do with a few more? Not a critiscm of the service, just noticed they were having to rush around non stop.
As a family having a Christmas meal together is important. Fakenham were so good at the order stage. Arrived and had table ready for Christmas. We needed wheelchair access which was delivered. The food was hot and delicious. So much of it as well. Service was excellent we highly recommend Fakenham if you want a get together with family.
The staff were lovely, friendly and couldn't do enough for us. The venue was very warm and cosy and had a lovely festive atmosphere. It was full of families enjoying a meal. Our food was really good and so was the service, as well as being good value. We were looked after really well by Molly, Grace and Alicia. We will definitely visit again if we are in the area.
We booked in for a Christmas Breakfast with the elves. The kids were very excited, when we got there they were not disappointed. We were met by Donna the Elf and shown to our table, sat amongst other families enjoying the same event. Our order was taken and food arrived very quickly cooked perfectly and tasted great. The kids were given Christmas tree cookies to decorate, they had colouring in to do on the table, a letter to write to the big man and at the end of the meal they were each given some presents.
We all had crackers which had vouchers for money off another meal, so much better than a cheap plastic toy, a lovely atmosphere, lovely food and attentive polite professional staff. Will be back here again soon.
The place is spacious and great for family & friends meal. The food is good too. Excellent choices of pub food. The staff were nice.
However, I experienced an incident in the past where a broken glass was in my drink thinking it was ice. Just be careful when you ask for ice and lemon on your drinks. The drinks are cold enough without ice.
It could just well be an isolated incident. 🤷♀️
I didnt ask for a refund or a free meal or a free drink because I was more concerned of my safety and others at that time. I obviously informed them about it. They looked at me, confused and confounded of what I just told and showed them. They apologized and obviously gave me a new drink (without ice this time.😄)
We are still going there to have a meal but I dont have ice in my drinks anymore.
Greeted with a smile and a warm welcome. All the staff from the barman to the waitress were very attentive. The food was really good and would not hesitate returning.
Food is ok, reasonable fare for the price, not much of a vegetarian selection, but fairly typical.
Dad always has the gammon, I alternate between 3 vegetarian dishes.
Staff are always welcoming and friendly.
I like that they have a family area, but three machines selling tat with flashing lights to attract children in the small child area is not really appropriate. The grab machine is just bound to upset children, we watched a child with autism get really upset because of it.
The wall activities are ancient, but our toddler likes them. It wouldn't hurt to invest in some other activities.
