Popped in on spur of moment we each had blue cheese and bacon burger excellent! Good pint of speckled hen! Attentive staff very welcoming would recommend this early doors venue in what seems to be a locals and visitors pub worth another visit might not go in summer as it has a prime river location
Went here yesterday with the family and it was our second visit, lovely food, great service and a brilliant Sunday lunchtime atmosphere. I don't recommend places very often as it always bites me on the backside but I heartily recommend you pay this place s visit.
We have started to stop here , on the way back from hospital . As a treat as sisters going through chemo .3 times now , Monday' afternoons , Food is well presented ,tastey and using good produce ,Lovely place .
The braised blade of beef this week was fabulous and we both really enjoyed it , see you all in 3 weeks keep up the good work . Nice friendly place, delicious food, working our way through the menu hehe
Came as a table of 12 - it was a meet in the middle place all of us travelling over an hour away. The food was lovely- good sizes and great quality! We had a mixture from pies, burgers, the cod as well as children’s food. Staff were spot on so thoughtful and went out of their way to help. Amazing customer service as well! Puddings were to die for - had to stop the children from scrapping off the paint work from the plates after sticky toffee pudding(joke). If we didn’t live so far away we would be back often! Finished off with a walk by the river and of course watching some of the World Cup! Thank you from all of us :)
Had a lovely slimming world friendly meal here tonight which the chef very kindly sorted for me. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Highly recommend x
My son and his partner work abroad and were over in newark for the day , we called on spec .. staff were so lovely and very helpful and attentive .. the food was amazing highly recommend the belly pork .. first visit willnt be the last absolutely fantastic food atmosphere and staff x
Throughly enjoyed our evening at the Riverside on Saturday night. Food was excellent and the waitress was brilliant as we're all the staff we came in contact with. We were a table of 6 I've been a few times. But it was the first time for the rest of my family, they were all really impressed with the whole experience and we highly recommend the riverside
Fabulous food as always-my friends Birthday so it went down a treat-together with the wine of course! I think the Sunday lunch has got even better

Wow what a fantastic place warm welcome, service really good, food was amazing best pie I’ve tasted homemade crust pastry, fish big and fresh. Didn’t have room for pudding,but sat by the riverside with a coffee. Will definitely return 😍
Have eaten here a good few times whilst on the river. Food is excellent, staff attentive and efficient, real ale options are limited but its a restaurant not an ale house. My only real "gripe" is the menu stays pretty similar and when coming regularly would be nice to see some fresh options once in a while.
Stopped here for a spot of lunch, 3 courses for £18.95. Fantastic value and great food. Nice and clean pub. Staff were very friendly and gave great service. Nice spot by the river. I wod definitely recommend and go back again.

Had lunch here with friends on 29 Dec. We were all extremely impressed with both the food and service. Great value for money too. I also had the chocolate brownie for dessert, however it looked soo good (it tasted as good as it looked!) I dived into it before taking a pic. Only downside of the meal for me was I wanted more on the plate😂
Service is very good, attentive, and polite, and couldn't do enough for us. We weren't waiting long for drinks or food, which was piping hot and freshly cooked. Absolutely delicious. We tried each others and don't think there is anything on the menu that we wouldn't like.
Having moved out of the area last year we still come back to the Riverside for the special meals. Always good food, very attentive staff & a very pleasant atmosphere. The fixed menu is good value for the money.
Amazing. We went for lunch and chose the 3 course special. The Staff were superb the service was brilliant and the food was amazing. I will definitely be returning and can not speak highly enough of this wonderful place.

Just popped in for a drink as it was hot. Barman very attentive, food smelt great, pub is to side of a Marina. Lovely location, quiet. Adequate parking in front of pub and plenty of outside seating. Pub looked a fair size inside.
Arrived without a reservation as part of a party of four having visited the NT Southwell Workhouse on Sunday afternoon about 4.30. Just everything was spot on in all aspects from meet and greet, bar, food and service. Happy to recommend and would certainly revisit when in the area - this time with a reservation just to make sure!
Had a wonderful meal with family, for our son's birthday. The staff were lovely, and the food, likewise. Will definitely be returning.

Had a fabulous Full English Breakfast with extra Potato Tots on Good Friday. Brilliant way to start the day with great service, excellent food, especially the Tots.
Just a shame the piped music is a little lame, especially in the mornings

We decided to celebrate our 50th Anniversary of our first ever date here as we had eaten here several times previously and had good food and experience. You excelled yourselves this time with superb food (Lamb Shanks)/Apple&Cinnamon Crumble and wine (New Zealand Pinot Gris). The service was top notch - calm, efficient and friendly but not OTT. An experience worthy of the occasion to be celebrated. Many, many thanks for making this evening special!
