Galloping Gourmates Our November Night Out began with a walk along Felixstowe prom, what an amazingly wonderful place. How the gardens, new pier, spar pavilion have put new vigour into the town. As we approached the Fludyers Hotel it soon became apparent how this beautifully restored Edwardian hotel and restaurant, has enhanced this end of #Felixstowe, just a few yards from the beach. The evening began with.., A bottle of Montepulciano., most highly recommended. Our starters were wonderful :Phil ;had toasted Greek Style Salad: absolutely sublime flavours. Frank :- Gin and Tonic Cured Salmon, a most unusual pairing, but worked so well, as Frank cleared his plate, and Chris with Chicken Liver Parfit. Mains were : Beef Wellington ( to die for) Frank Lamb Rump with mix of vegetables, and Chris with Herb Crusted Rack Of Lamb. All cooked to perfection. The chips were crispy and chunky but soft on the inside, and the vegetables and sides delicious. For pudding, for those followers , two most wonderful Cheese Dishes and for Frank , a Roast fig and and almond crumble. The staff were great, and service attentive. The whole meal from start to finish was perfection. I would say I am hard to please, but this blew me away, and I would highly recommend popping along and enjoy.

We have been here many times. The location is beautiful, and the service and food never fails to surprise us. The highlights are the Tempura prawns and sweet potato fries. They are so light, not fatty and absolutely delicious which is not something I can say about many places. Definitely recommend this place!

At first glance the food can look a bit expensive BUT not really! A pot of tea gives you two WHOLE cups of tea - often you don't get this. We ordered a Victoria sandwich cake which turned out to be a very lovely cupcake to be eaten with a fork on the stylish slate slab - delicious with quick efficient service in with that price - worth every penny!!

We have just had a really great night at Fludyers. The hotel is gorgeous, We had a very very nice sea view room, very modern with balcony and although weather wasn't great Saturday night we woke to beautiful blue sky and the sound of waves. Food here is delicious, wee bit pricey but drinks are very good value. Breakfasts was the biggest and best we have had in a long time and the staff were excellent. We will be back very soon. Loved every minute x

We booked a one night stay here as we were attending a wedding in the area. What a beautiful hotel. Our room was lovely, no sea views but we weren't in it that long for that to matter. Bed was huge and very comfortable. Bathroom was very good and clean. We had asked for a family room but when we got there, there was no bed for our daughter. Quick call to reception and within 5 minutes, 2 ladies put up a bed and made it up. Husband had forgotten his razor, the manager found him one! Breakfast was lovely, good quality and plenty to choose from. We did have to wait a while for it but the staff did apologise. The dining room had lovely sea views. Good free wifi too. Will definitely be staying again when we are in the area and would highly recommend. Many thanks.

Why is this hotel only classed as 2*. It is definitely 4* for sure. We had a lovely stay. We were greeted by friendly staff who even let us go to our room 3 hours early as it was ready. The room was large, tidy and clean with a cafetiere and a great selection of refreshments. Comfortable large bed. Tv. A nice touch were the chairs in the window. I loved the views from our room looking out to sea. There was a huge bathroom, again very clean and tidy. Downstairs, the bar was full of people and had a friendly atmosphere and all our meals were superb. The following morning (today), we were greeted by different staff but equally as friendly. The full English breakfast was very generous and tasty. The decor of the hotel is calming but my only very small criticism is that the hotel were a little more adventurous with the decor and used some funkier seating and bolder paint colours. Other than this I cannot fault anything about this hotel, lovely ambience, lovely staff, spacious rooms and excellent food. 👌

Me and mum went here for dinner after a lovely afternoon shopping in town. Is a lovely bar and restaurant over looking the sea. Coffee was really good and piping hot. We ordered fish and chips and were very impressed. Best fish and chips have had in ages. Very nice portion size too. The bar staff and waitresses were very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend.

I recently stayed at the Fludyers as part of birthday celebrations (party also held in their Simpson rooms). I could not fault any aspect of the weekend. From start to finish the staff and service was impeccable. The room I had (no 7) was stunning and spotlessly clean. It came with all the tea and coffee making amenities - much appreciated by someone who drinks endless tea. The room has a lovely balcony and you could see the see from one side - lovely to sit out on and wind down in the evening with your cuppa while listening to the waves of the sea 😁. While there, I had plenty of drinks and particularly liked the French Martinis which were well made. The food is very fairly priced for the high quality and generous portions. I got breakfast included as part of my stay, which given the quality of the room made it seem like I got a real bargain. There was ample and free parking just outside the hotel and it is ideally located for a lovely stroll along the beach front or for a meandering walk into town. This boutique hotel, is everything you want to have a relaxing break away.

Went for breakfast. On initial walk-in, no one spoke to us. No one said hello. They just looked at us and carried on the till or bar. We were standing at the bar for quite some time. When we did ask about breakfast, they found us a table, and the waitress & young waiter who served us were REALLY good. The food was good. Kids loved the waffles, and it was reasonably price, just very unwelcoming to begin with. The dining room lacks atmosphere, but the service in the end was very good. They were good with the kids too. Adapted the fussy menu requests

Rooms are spacious, clean and with a modern design. The balcony rooms overlooking the sea are brilliant. Such a lovely experience to wake up to the sound of the crashing waves and the sun rising over the horizon. The reception is at the bar, so there is competing service between you and the punters wanting pints, which can leave you waiting awkwardly. At peak times it might be a while before phone calls to reception are answered. The restaurant room is separate from the bar, simply arranged and with tasty interpretations of British dishes with some international cuisine mixed in. Notable mains include the fish and chips, the pork belly and rosti, the Thai yellow curry, and when it returns to the menu, the featherblade of beef. The menu changes regularly, so expect new and interesting courses each time you enter. We wait expectantly for April’s… Overall, this is a delightful place to stay when visiting Felixstowe for work or pleasure. It’s got 120 years of history but with a modern spec. Definitely make this your base if you get an opportunity.

This is the best hotel where to stay in Felixstowe! It's the perfect location not only for sleeping but also for dinner. It's a very historical hotel but perfectly renovated with rooms very comfortable, clean, quiet. It's located just in front of the seaside with a walking distance to the center of Felixstowe and at 5 minutes from the golf course. Perfect place also where to drink something.

I haven’t stayed only had a Christmas dinner. We have enjoyed 3 course meal. Excellent presentation and good quality. Nice place and good customer service. The only down side was one of the glasses hasn’t been cleaned properly and had still lipstick on the edges. And very limited parking around.

Slightly biased, because my parents used to drink here when they were younger. Great location on the seafront. Good selection of drinks.

This hotel has a great bar and restaurant. Fantastic table service inside or sitting watching the sea. Lovely beers wines an spirits, and very nice hot chocolate. Very popular so you would be wise to book a table if you want food.
