Review The Queen's Oak - Finchampstead

Wow, a Sunday Roast that makes me smile! Roast Beef with all the trimmings, topped off with a superb sized sticky toffee pudding dessert. The venue is tucked away along a country lane opposite the local church, a beautiful venue full of history and charm. The oak trees lining the road and surroundings making it into a true countryside feel for the restaurant. The staff were superb, the service was fantastic and the food was 5 stars. Look forward to returning as this visit was for a Birthday celebration. The parking options are superb, lots of spaces right outside or if full an overflow opposite just outside the church is also an option. A drop off directly outside the pub/restaurant is available for easy access.

Really very good indeed. Friendly welcome on arrival. Nice bar and snug with a restaurant dining area. We did a classic Sunday lunch and both had the Roast Beef. The roast beef with all the trimmings was quite superb. Huge portions and we added cauliflower cheese. Sadly, due to Dry January, we didn’t have any booze but it would have complimented a glass of Merlot perfectly. Good value at £50 in a lovely friendly village pub. Will be back.

A hidden treasure! The building and the garden are beautiful, the food is excellent and the team are incredibly welcoming and accommodating. I had a big ask to see if I could work here remotely for the week WITH my dog AND a fan due to the heatwave. They welcomed us in to the perfect corner to set up, it was easy to connect to the wifi, plug my laptop in and not only did they give my dog a nice big bowl of ice water but as they love dogs, she’s been getting cheeky pork crackling from the kitchen! Her mind is blown, she’s made friends with all the staff and she has been very happy spending time in a wonderful, positive environment. They kept the building perfectly cool when it was hot and and they were always attentive and relaxing without being overbearing. I am so glad I found the perfect place to work for the week! Highly recommend every person (and dog!) pays a visit! Thank you to the whole team for being everything that you are! We will most definitely be back!!!

What a wonderful find! First time here, and we were both impressed by the food, service, and staff. The Goat curry was definitely worth trying. We will definitely be back as we both felt that the staff went over and above to make us feel welcomed.

Meeting a good friend after 40 years, The Queen's Oak seemed to be the right place to visit. Situated near the church and heart of the village, the staff were welcoming and friendly and immediately put us at ease as we were led to our table. Drinks were brought to the table and the food order was cooked and delivered in good time. Fish and Chips for my friend and I had the Ciabatta Salt Beef Sandwich with chips. All good quality and most enjoyable. The room is light and spacious and in the winter, a lovely log fire provides an added bonus. There is a beer garden with an area for children and well worth a visit when visiting Finchampstead.

Just had a great Sunday lunch as a group of 8. We had the beef (we were able to have it pink), lamb (wonderfully blackened), and parmigiana (full of flavour). Staff were very helpful and nothing seemed too much trouble.

Lunch time visit with my 96 year old friend Dennis. Rang ahead for best access for Dennis on his Rolator and they could not have been more helpful. Friendly greeting and service, table waiting for us, great menu choices and friendly service by Louise at a relaxed pace. Lovely surroundings and atmosphere with other diners. A dietary requirement was expertly handled when the head chef came to our table to clarify. Hearty meal, will be back for sure!

Lovely pub. The only downside was that you have to scan a QR code on the tables to access the food menu and i could not get any to work on my phone. They do still have paper menus so not really a big deal. I would definitely go back.

Lovely spot in a quiet area. Garden is large and can accommodate a lot of people very comfortably. Parking available. Food is priced higher than average but the quality reflects that. £5 for a portion of chips. But what a fantastic portion of chips it is.

We had the best experience at Queens Oak last night with some friends and family for a birthday party. Unfortunately my grandma was feeling nauseous and fainted but one of the bar staff Gemma was swift to catch her and sang her a sweet melody whilst nursing her back to health. Overall 10/10 would absolutely recommend xo
