We visited the Golden Shield wile on a canal holiday on the nearby Grand Union Canal. This is a nice pub with friendly staff. We were able to order a takeaway meal to be delivered (covid reasons) which was hit and tasty. Inside was clean and well decorated and most importantly a nice pint!
I only visited following a funeral along with the family so it is difficult to give a proper review. The premises were very clean. The staff were very helpful and courteous.
We visited the golden shield while on a canal boat holiday. We were hoping for food but unfortunately they weren't serving. However, they were very accomodating by recommending various takeaways which they allowed us to have delivered. They even supplied us with plates and cutlery!
A great place with lovely staff and a good selection of drinks.

I am so happy that I decided to go to the Shield for a Sunday dinner. It was my husbands 60th birthday and I had surprised him with family coming to visit and a meal out. First of all, I cannot thank Stacey enough for how helpful and accommodating she was when I asked about eating there.....nothing
Great pub, kid friendly and can order amazing fish and chips from the local chippy.
A lovely atmosphere. We felt very welcome as did our dog, Bailey. Will definitely be back.
