Definitely your traditional Chinese food. I’ve heard the hype about the soup dumplings and wanted to try it out. Definitely delicious and the price is reasonable for what you get. We also ordered other dishes, all were fantastic and came out fresh. The wait time to get the food was decent as well.
The only downfall is they don’t take reservations and sometimes the wait can be lengthy. Also, they only take cash. So make sure you have cash on you. If not, there’s an ATM around the corner.

Amazing pork and crab soup dumplings. You will max eat two sets of 8pcs per person. Good and fast service. 15% gratuity already calculated in the check.

We were craving xialongbao and it turned out that our favorite joint had more than 30 min wait time for a table. So we visited the old Joe's Shanghai , and we are happy to confirm that the food was great. Scallion pancakes, xialongbao, pan fried noodles, everything tasted great!

Pork soup dumplings are THE BEST! This place also has other delicious food such as their fried rice, general tso chicken, and pan fried noodles. Dishes are a bit pricey especially for the size but are still worth it. Service is also amazing and fast. (Tip: if this is your first time here, bring cash for they don't take card.)

Our go to place for XLB! The service is good and friendly by Flushing standard. The food is consistent over the past 20+ years. Our favorites are XLB, scallion pancake, Shanghai thick noodles, salt and pepper calamari and the fish head casserole. Cash only.

What a great week. Joe's Shanghai is another great place I dined at, just Wow! So Yes! Try this place for authentic Chinese food. I had the Pork Soup Dumplings and a Scallop pancake. It was a first for me. I enjoyed it so much brought some home for my son to try. Can't wait to go and try something else. Oh Yeah, it's cash only but prices are fair.

Nothing like some soup dumplings from Joe's Shanghai. They serve them with ginger soy sauce, which goes really well with the soup. The prices have gone up recently but are still not too bad. The seating area is clean and there usually isn't too long of a wait for a table. They already include the tip when they give you the check, and I believe they're either cash only or have a minimum limit for credit cards. They do have a bathroom for customers, although I haven't been to it in my recent visits so I don't remember what it's like.

Worth the bib gourmand designation it has in the Michelin guide. Unpretentious and solid service with large portions of tasty food. It’s certainly Americanized Chinese food but many of the more traditional dishes are still nestled into the menu. Pro tip that a service charge is included in the bill precluding the need to tip.

My review is for Joe’s Shanghai in Flushing. I would say that they have pretty good service. We didn’t have to wait on a weekend. Food always come promptly after we placed the order. The crab meat soup dumplings are my favorite. I’m not really a big fan of other food there, but their food are good and price is fair.
